Basic Tee

The Basic Tee is clothing in Splatoon. It is a 1-star item produced by the SquidForce brand and comes with the main ability, Quick Respawn.

The Basic Tee is available at the start of the game.

Appearance

The Basic Tee is a yellow short-sleeved shirt. On the front are some Inkling letters printed in a very dark yellow, and on the bottom is a small purple tag with the SquidForce logo. On the wearer's chest is a white pin with a green and yellow starfish design on it.

Abilities

The Basic Tee comes with Quick Respawn as a main ability. As a 1-star item, it also has one slot for a secondary ability. Since it is made by the SquidForce brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Damage Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main).

Trivia

• The symbols on the shirt loosely resemble the Japanese word for "Squid" (いか).
• The starfish pin worn with the shirt is a reference to the Japanese Wakaba mark, a symbol representing anything having to do with beginners. This is fitting considering the fact that the Basic Tee is the first piece of clothing received by new players.
