3D Model Project

So this project has been sitting there for a while, with no progress, possibly because the task is too enormous. Looking at the Team Fortress wiki example provided, this isn't actually a 3D model being rendered, but rather captures of a 3D model at 24 angles. See: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/File:Spy_RED_3D.jpg. The process of creating these images is documented at the TF2 wiki here: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Team_Fortress_Wiki:3D_Models. Looks kinda difficult.

Also, something like these templates would need to be implemented: Template:3D Viewer, Template:3D Team Viewer. Can someone who actually knows how wikis work look into that?

I downloaded Splatoon's models and textures from steam workshop and uploaded them here for anyone interested in this project: https://mega.nz/#!lphDiYTB!l3aIsAdPnpS6xCCYN1RNSmVrVv1KW3JQCkFGkSeVmRc

See, here's what's had me (and I assume anyone else who would've been doing this) at a wall: I can't figure out how to view the models in the way they look in-game. They're all available and people do a great job making them work with SFM and GMod, but unfortunately they look pretty different in Source. Splatoon's engine is just so particular, I guess. The models are weird in anything else - the lighting and textures are, like, just off enough to look awkward. And I mean... I guess we could use HLMV if there's no alternative, but they'd still look gross and not accurate to the game. Hhhh 😞 --Bzeep! talk 01:57, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New project proposal

So I just welcomed somebody to Inkipedia (Apollo) and I thought it would be a great idea to make this a project. Just welcoming the new users to Inkipedia and making sure they get a warm welcome from a human. Go to a new user's talk page, hand-type a welcome, maybe showing them a few templates as well as some other stuff and this project would be set! (Check exaple on Apollo's talk page). What do you guys think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlazingInferno (talkcontribs)

We use {{welcome}} to welcome users who have made at least one edit. Luke (talk) 14:08, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
