Template:Infobox ability The Opening Gambit boosts your run speed and swim speed for the first 30 seconds of the match, allowing you to move much faster. Ideal for reaching objectives before opponents during the start of the match. This Ability is restricted to headgear as a main ability.

Open Gambit is especially useful to gain quick advance of terrain at the very few seconds of the match. Because the player using this ability is expected to arrive to the middle of the battle field before than other team members, an aggressive and planned strategy is expected.

This is not a useful ability in the latter portion of a ranked match when team strategy is much more valuable than area domination. However its ability to get you to the center of the map faster might provide some tactical advantages early in a match.

Use

Opening Gambit makes you run faster and swim faster for the first 30 seconds of the match. After 30 seconds have passed, the effect wears off for the rest of the match, effectively wasting an ability slot, which could be a Quick Respawn or Run Speed Up. It is used to grab an early start by getting towards points or behind them before they do.
