The Aerospray RG comes in a set with the Ink Mines and the Inkstrike.

Data

  • The Aerospray RG is a middleweight weapon.
  • Each shot consumes 0.5% of the ink tank capacity.
    • This allows players to fire 200 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
  • When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 4 frames (15 shots per second).
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.72 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 20 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 24.5.
  • Shots travel straight for 3 frames. After that, they may lose damage. A shot will lose damage until it reaches 12.25 damage at frame 15.
  • Shots have a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 12 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 12 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 60 frames.
  • The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle increases by 10% per shot, and maximizes at a 40% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle.
    • This means that it takes 4 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
  • When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
  • Accuracy starts recovering 4 frames after the player stops shooting.
  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 22 units per frame for 3 frames. Shots travel straight for 66 distance units.
  • Ink droplets occur every 117 units.
  • The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1 droplets per shot.
  • There are a total of 8 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
  • Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 22 units.
  • Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 19 units.
  • All other ink droplets have a radius of 13.5 units.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Aerospray RG is like the Aerospray MG I built from my grandpappy's blueprints, only... shinier! Combining its rapid-fire capabilities with tricky Ink Mines allows for some great hit-and-run tactics. Add the Inkstrike into the mix, and it's the perfect package if you like causing complete and utter chaos!

The Aerospray RG returns in Splatoon 2 looking identical to how it did in the first game. It comes with Sprinklers and the Baller.

Data

  • The Aerospray RG is a lightweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 110. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • The ink consumption of 0.55% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 181 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
  • When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
  • When firing from swim form, the first shot takes 10 frames to come out.
  • The interval between firing and when the player is able to enter swim form or use a sub weapon is 2 frames.
  • When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 4 frames (15 shots per second).
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.72 units per frame.
  • After firing, there is a 15 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
  • Each shot has a base damage of 24.
  • If a shot is in the air for more than 8 frames after being fired, it loses 0.75 damage per frame until it reaches 12 damage at frame 24.
  • The bullet hitbox has a radius of 2 units.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 13 degrees.
  • The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 16 degrees.
  • The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 25 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 70 frames.
  • The Aerospray RG starts off having a 6% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle.
    • This chance increases by 3% per shot, and maximizes at a 50% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle, meaning that it takes 15 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
  • When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
  • Accuracy starts recovering 4 frames after the player stops shooting. The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle decreases by 1% per frame, if the chance is not already at the minimum, meaning that it takes 48 frames to reach maximum accuracy. (38 after shooting while jumping.)
  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 22 units per frame for 3 frames. Shots travel straight for 66 distance units.
    • After that, the shot's velocity is set to 18.945 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it travels.
  • Ink droplets occur every 125 units.
  • The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1 droplets per shot.
  • There are a total of 8 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
  • Droplets that occur within 21 units of the player have a radius of 20 units, and a width of 13 units.
    • These droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.2 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.4 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
  • Droplets that occur when they travel past 150 units of the player have a radius of 17.8 units.
  • All other ink droplets have a radius of 12 units.
  • Droplets that are far from the player and all other droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.2 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
  • If no ink droplets have occurred within 21 units of the player for 4 shots, the next shot the player makes will force a paint droplet to appear at the player's feet.

[2][3]

Appearance

The Aerospray RG resembles an aerosol spray pen. The body of the weapon is gold-colored. Connected to the stock on the top of the weapon is a canister sitting at a 70-degree angle shaped like half of a capsule with a black Ammo Knights logo on it. On the back of the weapon is a thin black tube connected to the bottom of the handle and the stock. Connected to the bottom of the upper forestock is a bent, oval-shaped panel. The muzzle is shaped like a cap.

The Aerospray RG set is a modified Aerospray MG set. It has the same great fire rate, but the Sprinkler gives this set absurd coverage! The Baller lets you cut off sections of your opponent's territory, so I strongly recommend it for players who really want to control the turf!

  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 2.2 units per frame for 3 frames. Shots travel straight for 6.6 distance units.
    • After that, the shot's velocity is set to 1.8945 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and it loses 36% of its speed every frame (including the first frame after it stops traveling straight). Once the shot velocity decreases below a certain threshold, it will begin to be slowed less and fall faster.
  • The effective range is about 9.61 units.
    • This number may vary at different firing angles.

Love the Aerospray MG but wish it came with a different sub and special? Well, today is your lucky day! The Aerospray RG set was made just for you! It's the same great Aerospray that lets you spray it - not say it - but the addition of the Sprinkler sub gives you absurd coverage. And when you need something with more mustard to make a strategic push, Booyah Bombs always live up to their name. I recommend this set for those who ink outside the box!

SRL Ballistics again! It's our time to shine, or maybe YOUR time to shine with this limited-edition g o l d e n Aerospray MG set. Now equipped with the Sprinkler sub and Booyah Bombs to help you cover more turf, this flashy firearm is still one of the fastest splats around.

Trivia

  • The Aerospray RG appears to be designed after an aerograph, a type of airbrush.
  • The "RG" in this weapon's name likely stands for "Real Grade", referencing Bandai's line of highly detailed 1:144 scale model kits for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam.
    • This is because it is common for model kits to be painted with an airbrush and because Gundam models are extremely popular in Japan.
