Appearance
The Black Anchor Tee is a short-sleeved, black T-shirt. On the front is a large, black and white crest with an anchor design, and on the bottom is a small blue tag with a tiny, white anchor on it. On the back of the shirt is the symbol for Ranked Battles, with some white Inkling text below it. In Splatoon 3, the shirt can be changed into an oversized version using the 'Adjust Gear' feature.

The Black Anchor Tee comes with Recon as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Cold-Blooded, Haunt, or Ninja Squid. As a 2-star item, the Black Anchor Tee comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Damage Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.

When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Black Anchor Tee comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Increasing the star level to 2 stars will add another secondary ability slot for a total of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slot.

- The Black Anchor Tee exists in real life, sold by KOG.
- The Black Anchor Tee is the only piece of Respawn Punisher gear that was also in Splatoon but did not have Damage Up. This is due to the Black Anchor Tee being made by the SquidForce gear brand, which favors Damage Up.
