When Judd's "Zzz" (or in the case of a Splatfest, "Meow!") is red, he has a new tip to give and possibly a vibe reward. Advice is chosen randomly from the following list.

  • "A Splat Bomb's timer is only active while it's on the ground! So they'll explode quicker when rolled than when thrown through the air!"
  • "An Inkstrike lets you attack any location on the Wiiu-gamepad-icon.png map! The tornado slowly expands from a central point, so try to be accurate! And don't let foes hit you while you're looking at your map! Stay alert!"
  • "Chargers deal a clawful lot of damage with each shot! But even so...if you only focus on one-shotting foes, you're gonna have a bad time. Try using your first shot to cut off an opponent's path with your ink... and then you can take them out more easily with the second! Inking the ground like this will help your team too, so get shooting!"(NA)
    • "Chargers deal an awful lot of damage with each shot! But even so... If you just try to splat foes in one hit, you're going to have a bad time. Try using your first blast to block off the path ahead of them with ink... Then you can take them out more easily with the second! Painting the ground like this will help your allies too, so get shooting!"(EU/OC)
  • "Did you ever notice that light on top of your Ink Tank? It tells you when you've got enough ink to use your Sub Weapon!"
  • "Each piece of gear has a main ability and some unlockable abilities. The diffurence in purrformance can be pawsitively huge! When choosing your gear, consider the main ability first... and then take any additional abilities into account. Peace meowt!"(NA)
    • "Each piece of gear has a main ability and some unlockable abilities. And it's worth remembering that the main ability has a greater effect! When choosing your gear, consider the main ability first... and then take any additional ability into account!"(EU/OC)
  • "Ever been attacking so hard that you forget to watch your step? If you wander into enemy ink, you'll move slower, and slowly take damage! Try to stay within your own ink colour at all times!"
  • "Fire a Shooter while jumping to spray your ink wider than usual! The size of the reticle shows how wide your ink will spray, so pay attention!"
  • "Have you ever been splatted by the same enemy repeatedly? This is often because they've found an advantageous position to hold! In such situations, just charging in is likely to get you splatted yet again. Stay calm and try to catch them off guard from a different angle!"
  • "Do mew ever feel like the camera is moving too fast? If so, try lowering the sensitivity in the Options menu on Wiiu-gamepad-icon.png!"(NA)
    • "Have you ever felt like the camera is moving too fast for you? If so, try lowering its sensitivity in the options menu on Wiiu-gamepad-icon.png!"(EU/OC)
  • "Hit a foe with a Disruptor, and their movement will be slowed down! They'll take longer to recharge ink, too, giving you the clear advantage. If you get hit by one yourself, it may be wise to hide until it wears off. Or you could choose to fight anyway, if you have the ink reserves!"
  • "Holding the higher ground can have a lot of advantages! You'll have a better view of the field, and your ink will reach further too! It's helpful to memorise the most useful vantage points in a stage. If a foe gets there first, you may want to avoid taking them head-on. Instead, use your Sub or Special weapons to force them to retreat!"
  • "If you get enemy ink stuck to your body... your oppawnents will be able to track you on their Wiiu-gamepad-icon.png maps! Enemy ink sticks to you if you tread in it or get shot, so stay clean!"(NA)
    • "If you're unlucky enough to get enemy ink stuck on your body... your opponents will be able to track you on their Wiiu-gamepad-icon.png maps! Enemy ink sticks to you if you tread in it or get shot, so be careful!"(EU/OC)
  • "If you see an arrow with an ally's name on your screen... that means they're about to Super Jump to your pawsition! You should feel purroud for finding a good location for them to jump to! By the way, if an ally's arrow keeps flashing repeatedly... they must be tapping your icon while still respawning, so hang in there!"(NA)
    • "If you see an arrow with an ally's name on your screen... that means they're about to Super Jump to your position! You can feel proud for finding a good location for them to jump to! By the way, if the same ally's arrow keeps flashing up repeatedly... they must be tapping your icon while respawning, so hang in there!"(EU/OC)
  • "If you use the Echolocator, all your foes will appurr on your map! In fact, they'll appurr on your whole team's maps, so everyone benefits! Use it whenever you can to bend the flow of battle to your advantage!"(NA)

  • "Keep an eye on the team status at the top of the screen! You can see which players have been defeated - both allies and enemies! If a lot of enemies are being splattered, it could be an opportunity to advance. But if your team are being defeated, you may want to play defensively!"
  • "Place an Ink Mine, and it'll blow up when a foe comes near! If your foes use Ink Mines, you can uncover them using your own ink. Ink Mines bleep just before exploding, so take that as your cue to run!"
  • "It's true that hiding in your own ink makes you hard to see. But if you swim around, your foes may notice the ink ripples you make! So keep an eye out for ripples in enemy ink. And spray away if you cat-ch your foes in the act!"(NA)
    • "Players can't see you while you're hiding in the ink as a squid. But if you move around, they might spot the splashes of ink you create! So if you spot splashes in an area of enemy ink that seems to be empty... Quickly shoot your own ink to reveal the lurking foe!"(EU/OC)

  • "Rollers can deal huge damage to foes by rolling over them directly. But cool-headed foes aren't going to let you get close that easily! So try not to forget that flinging ink can be pretty powerful as well! At mid-range, you're often better off flinging than charging right in!"
  • "Seekers chase after foes, and even paint the ground as they go! But be aware that they can't chase foes who are hiding inside their ink!"
  • "Splash Walls create a barrier of ink that can block enemy attacks! But the more attacks they block, the quicker they'll break down. Your own team's shots go through the wall, so you'll be at a big advantage! Barriers require a lot of ink to create, though, so keep that in mind."
  • "Splatting foes is good, but it's not wise to focus on that alone. Painting the ground to create new paths is what really helps your team! Work together to expand your range, especially at the start of a battle!"
  • "Sprinklers are Sub weapons that paint the ground around them! Try using them to distract enemies while you go in for the decisive blow!"
  • "Sticking to walls isn't the only distinctive feature of Suction Bombs! They also take a little longer to explode than Splat Bombs do... But in return, their explosion deals damage over a wider area! They're perfect for chasing foes off narrow walkways up high!"

  • "The Bubbler is a barrier that will deflect all enemy attacks! And if you touch your allies while it's active, they'll get barriers as well! Its weakness is that attacks will push you back even further than usual. If an opponent uses one, either run, or try to push them out of range!"
  • "The feedback you get when you inflict damage is very important! When you score a hit, you'll be rewarded with a satisfying sound. Head to the testing range and try listening out for it!"
  • "The Inkzooka can splat foes in a single shot, even from afar! Its shots will even go over small walls, but won't hit foes right behind them. So if an opponent pulls one out, that's your cue to take cover!"

And if you press Button1 X.png, you'll jump and clawnch a nasty melee attack! It can even deflect incoming enemy attacks, though they'll push you back. You can't attack normally as a Kraken though, so think before you use it!" (NA)
