Fairuse category

Names

It was boredom at its finest, but I'm glad to help to archive the whole italian translation, even though most of the stuff I've seen so far was more or less a copy and paste from the american localization. To my surprise, most of the gear's names were actually translated from japanese. I still have 9 piece of clothing left, but I gotta get them yet in the game. Also, there's one gear that, to my surprise, was missing the japanese name - the Black LS - it wouldn't take too much for me to set the WiiU on japanese and get the name myself, if you wish. I'm kinda curious to peek at the japanese version, and I can handle some basic japanese. disregard that, you can't set a EU Wii U to japanese, sucks --LittleSkullKid (talk) 13:39, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

Blank Barnsquids

Is this right? I feel like I'm violating in some way...

Is it okay to edit other users accounts? By now you should know that I am a complete Splatfest nut, but whenever I see someone's profile and their Splatfest section bugs me, I just want to fix it. I have done this before, but before I only fixed colors. Something that I want to fix is Jer455's Splatfest section. VERY BADLY.

File Help?

Hey Bzeep! I think I need to ask a question about files. Okay, so normally when I upload a file to the site I take a screenshot while I'm playing Splatoon on my device, then upload it and yada yada. But I've been looking at some of the other files that have been uploaded to the pages and they seem to be a lot clearer than mine... Any idea how I can take the pictures and make them a little better quality? Thanks! --PeriwinklePanther32 (talk)

That's cuz they're screenshots! Like, the Wii U takes the picture instead of you. The easiest way to do it is with Miiverse: when you're in a game and want to take a screenshot, press , tap the Miiverse icon, it'll let you save a screenshot to your album. Then, get on your computer, open the picture in whatever program you use (for me it's paint.net), crop it, and upload. Oh, and some things to remember when taking pictures of things:

• Try to make your subject fill as much of the screen as possible while still leaving a little room.
• If you're in the plaza, zoom in on stuff to take pictures of it!! It looks tiny and bad if you don't hah
• Hide your dang reticle. I don't know why people just leave it there.
• To take pictures of things in stages, use a scoped Charger to zoom in.
• When cropping things afterwards, think of it like an actual photograph. Give your subject some breathing room, but don't leave awkward space. Ex: Full moon glasses closeup.png and Skull bandana + squidstar waistcoat + blue moto boots.png.

But here's the thing though. The other people I get images from have really big, hi-res screenshots. Like, way better than the little 800x450 ones that Miiverse makes. Compare Pizza splatfest tee front.png (which I took with Miiverse) to White arrowbands + krak-on 528.png (which someone else took). See how much bigger and nicer looking the second one is? I still don't know how they do it. Maybe they have capture cards. That's probly it.

I Know What Happened To Your Super Sea Snails

You get your Sea Snails when you turn on Splatoon after the results are announced (in my case, play Splatoon, end Splatfest at 6:00pm BST and then the next day, the next time I load Splatoon up, the results are announced.) However if you don't play on it until the next Splatfest has been announced, then you don't receive the Super Sea Snails. Barnsquids?

Hi User:Bzeep I just want to know how people get a particular reward called "Barnsquids", it's been bugging me all the time and I just want to know how to get one. User:Ikakizzu 10:36 GPC 30 December 2015

Barnsquids are just little things you put on your user page for doing certain stuff - a few of them are awarded by other people on the wiki, but most you can just kinda give yourself. They're like... stickers. You can see them all at Inkipedia:Barnsquids, feel free to use any that apply to you. Like, I was on Team Marshmallow, so I put the Team Marshmallow Barnsquid on my page. Could Use Some Help

Hello Bzeep, I have several images from Octo Valley (images of maps, quotes, and other things) and I am not sure how to properly upload them. I am mostly having issues with trying to piece together the different map images (ex. Spreader Splatfest) and add a proper walkthrough. Snowwarrior92

Hey, Bzeep! It's okay if you don't know much about hacking - neither do I. I'm currently trying to find ways to edit my save file since emulation will not work. Oh hey, welcome to Inkipedia! For simple image stuff, there's a nice tutorial page on MediaWiki. And for those little gear pictures with the abilities, people've been usin a template by GuyPerfect. Here's how it works:

Oh um. I actually don't know what fonts can be used. Corbel just happened to be one of them. Trial and error I guess, hah. And images have to be hosted on the wiki before you can use them. Like, if you wanted to put a picture of Callie on your page, you'd use something like this...

Ah yeah, you can put licensing on an existing file by going to "edit" and adding {{fairuse}} in there somewhere. You can change categories and the summary that way too. And an Inkipedia mobile app would be a major undertaking - I'm not aware of any plans to do one. I don't know the first thing about apps and I'm gonna hazard a guess that none of the other admins are, like, experts at it haha. A mobile version of the site might be in order at some point, but the desktop version tends to be usable enough I guess. The main page freaks out a bunch but everything else is at least okay. :y

Amiibo Question

I heard the release of the new amiibos, but because of funds, I couldn't get them... Anyways, I wanted to ask, did the 3 re-colored amiibos come out yet? Awww, that sucks! I can't belive that! Why is Nintendo that lazy that they can't even add and different features! :/ They should do a major update like they did last year, new stages, new gear, pants ;-; and completely new weapons (not recolors with different subs and specials)!
