Refactorisation of the pages for songs in BGM Tr1logies.
It could be a good idea to compact the pages for each of the songs in the trios of pieces of BGM (the one's named like "demol1sh", "demoli2h", and "d3molish", for the first, second and third sets of ten floors). All of those pages are under construction and share a lot of content. They are all fairly empty and don't seem to have much room for expansion, especially since those songs have been out for so long. It might be difficult to refactor them all, but it doesn't seem like too crazy of an idea, and might help get some of those pages off the ground.

- This topic has come up before in the Discord; my opinion was as follows:
I had considered that option as well, but despite the similar naming the songs are different enough to warrant having their own pages IMO
What we really need is to expand the unique content of each page by adding things like song descriptions- I think my opinion on this ultimately still holds up; despite the stubby nature of the current pages I don't feel it makes sense to merge them, as the songs are fairly compositionally distinct (i.e. they're not just remixes of each other, which is often our go-to qualification for merging song pages, similar names or not). I also don't think merging is likely to get more eyes on them or to get people to be more motivated to work on them; ultimately we just need someone who is able and interested to work on things like descriptions. There's also at least a couple pages that could have trivia based on the relatively new Tetris 99 theme made available recently.

- Concur with the above. Making room for readers to view info for all three "sub-types" of the song at once is tricky to execute when they're three distinct songs rather than all riffing off a common melody from a fourth "source" song. An issue that immediately comes to mind is what would we name a page containing all three such songs' information? A merging of the three versions ie. "d3mol12h" would be ultimately unhelpful as it is a bit too conjectural. At present, "demolish" is used as a disambiguation page between the three songs; converting this to note all three songs could work, though using a technically conjectural name rather than an official name as the basis to discuss all three songs when they're significantly distinct from one another to warrant separate pages and are otherwise officially named gets a bit messy. - Yeah, this is probably the correct move. This might be the wrong thread for this, but what kind of stuff specifically is meant to go in song descriptions? Should theory like songs' time signatures, keys, chord progressions and beat subdivisions be included or is it more of a high-level normie-facing overview about the instruments and vague-ish structure.
- If it's the latter, I don't know if that's enough to really de-stub those pages, because you can't really write more than a sentence or two about that kind of thing, without sounding like a broken record. (or record player, that could be faulty too!)
- Sorry if I don't see your responses for a while (I'm fairly new to this wiki, and often forget to check up on it), but feel free to make decisions without me. TheGnuGod (talk) 15:00, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late reply; song descriptions should primarily describe song structure and such. Specific technical details like BPM and key are typically kept in the related infobox (right-hand information box at the top of pages). No worries if you're not able to contribute to these pages.
