Ability Doubler is an ability that doubles the effect of each sub slot. As a result, each sub ability is 60% as effective as a main ability. It is exclusive to the Splatfest Tee in Splatoon 2.

Mutual exclusivity

This ability is found as the main ability only on clothing, so other abilities found only on clothing are mutually exclusive with it; in other words players cannot have them together. These abilities are Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, and Thermal Ink. In addition, since wearing the Splatfest Tee is mandatory during a Splatfest, these abilities cannot be used for the duration of those events.

Trivia

• Competitively, the only optimal use of Ability Doubler is with three different subs. Using two of the same sub is slightly less effective than a gear with a main of that ability and one sub of that ability. Using three of the same sub is also slightly less effective than a pure gear of that ability.
  • Since it's exclusive to the Splatfest Tee, this does not really matter; it can't be changed out of during a Splatfest, and before the Splatfest, it is better just to use it to farm chunks than to invest resources to get three different specific abilities on a temporary gear.
