In Splatoon 2, it is a 1-star item produced by Firefin and comes with the primary ability Bomb Defense Up.
It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for 
600 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for 1,500.
Appearance
The Black 8-Bit FishFry is a short-sleeved shirt that - despite the name - is not black, but a very dark gray. On the front is a large, pixelated version of the 
Firefin logo, with the colors inverted. On the back is the same thing, but with the logo turned around as if seen from behind. It has a tiny white tag at the bottom, also with the Firefin logo with inverted colors.

The Black 8-Bit FishFry comes with Defense Up as the primary ability. As a 1-star item, the Black 8-Bit FishFry comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Firefin gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) and a lower chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up to fill its secondary ability slot.

The Black 8-Bit FishFry comes with Bomb Defense Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 1-star item, the Black 8-Bit FishFry comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the Firefin gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) and a lower chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up to fill its secondary ability slot.
