Template:InfoboxCharacter Bob Dub(NA/EU/OC)[a], or Cala Marley (JP)[b], is a musician in the Splatoon series. He is not seen in-game and he is referred to only in Squid Beatz, Splatune, in the arcade game in Splatoon 2. While his species is unknown, the squids on his album art may suggest that he is an Inkling.

Songs

Main article: Music

Bob Dub's only known song is Dubble Bath (Ika Jamaica(JP)[b]), which can be heard in the multiplayer waiting room and equip screen. This song was remixed by DIY for the arcade machine in Splatoon 2.

Trivia

The Reggae Tee.
  • The Reggae Tee's design is based off of Bob Dub's album art. Its English name references his genre of music, and it shares its Japanese name, "Ika Jamaica", with the Japanese name of Bob Dub's one song.
  • A computer screen showing Bob Dub's album art can be found at Ancho-V Games.

Etymology

Cala Marley and his Japanese song title, Ika Jamaica, both reference the Jamaican reggae artist Bob Marley. His first name in the English localization of Splatoon may have been chosen to continue this pattern. Cala Marley could also be a reference to the Squid Sisters, whose English names together sound like "calamari".
