Bomb Sniffer
Template:Infobox ability Bomb Sniffer is an ability that allows players to easily spot opponents' Ink Mines and Bombs. All bombs within a certain distance appear as skull icons on their screen. These skull icons can be seen through walls. This Ability is restricted to shoes as a main ability.
As of Version 2.6.0, the splash damages of the Splat Bomb, Suction Bomb, Seeker, and Ink Mine what hurt less than 100% will be reduced by 40% (excludes Defense Up and Damage Up calculations), and Burst Bombs' damage will be reduced by 20%.
In-Depth Ability
Bomb Sniffer, upon being equipped, is an automatically-activated ability. Its effects cannot wear off or be increased or decreased through the addition of multiple slots. This ability causes highly-visible skull icons to appear over Splat Bombs, Suction Bombs, Burst Bombs, Ink Mines, and Seekers alerting the player of nearby danger.
Due to the interaction with explosive weapons, Bomb Sniffer is considered a pseudo counter-ability for this category, givin an overal advantage over this category of sub-weapons.
Use
Bomb Sniffer is used to track down nearby Ink Mines and Bombs that have been placed by the enemy. This does not activate or expire and is a permanent ability that can last the whole match. Ink Mines and Bombs are marked as skulls as mentioned before and can be shot down or avoided to allow safer passage through the map. This ability is especially useful for spotting Seekers and Ink Mines.

The following Gear items have Bomb Sniffer as their main ability. Bomb Sniffer is exclusive to Shoes items and cannot be rolled as a sub-ability.

- ▲ Bomb Sniffer will now also reduce the first 100 points of damage(*) dealt by Splat Bombs, Suction Bombs, Seekers, and Ink Mines by 40%, and damage dealt by Burst Bombs by 20%. Damage values do not include the effects of Attack Up or Defense Up.
Mutual exclusivity
Since this ability is found as the main ability only on shoes, other abilities found only on shoes are mutually exclusive with it; in other words you cannot have them together. These abilities are Ink Resistance Up, and Stealth Jump.
