Category talk:Protagonists

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki

Unnecessary category

This category isn't needed and the majority of characters listed here can't be considered protagonists per the term's definition; "protagonist" is not a blanket term for "the good guys of this story". Dramaturgically (the source of the term) a protagonist is the driving force of the story typically serving as the audience's point of view, which in the Splatoon series' case is exclusively the player characters and not the miscellaneous supporting characters. For example, Pearl is not the protagonist (main character) of Octo Expansion, she's just a supporting character; she's very relevant to the story but it's not her story, it's Agent 8's.

Separate from the misuse of the term, I can't see it being a useful category for the agent characters it does apply to; it would be best to add them to a "playable characters" or "roles the player/player character may assume" category. The supporting characters can be added to some other "story-related characters" category if needed, but I don't see that being super useful when the characters page is otherwise a quick means of accessing a list of story-related characters.
