"Chaos Carnival" is a song assumed to be performed by ω-3 and is heard during Salmon Run Next Wave. It plays during some Known Occurrences, replacing Fishing Frenzy from Splatoon 2's Salmon Run, though said song still plays in certain other Known Occurrences.

The song plays in rather low-risk events such as Goldie Seeking, The Mothership, Mudmouth Eruptions, and Giant Tornadoes.

Description

Much like all other ω-3 songs, Chaos Carnival utilizes cellos, timpanis and electronic sounds. Uniquely, at the end of every measure, the next measure contains an extra beat, starting from a single beat then all the way up to 16, where this pattern stops and the song continues. When the track loops at 1:18, the pitch and tempo increase exponentially over time until the song ends.

The time signature changes very frequently as a result of the incrementing beats. While it starts at 4/4, it transitions to a 10/8 time signature, with every new measure adding a new beat, so 11/8, 12/8, and so on, continuing up until 0:50.

Trivia

  • This is the only Salmon Run song that does not loop indefinitely, instead being 100 seconds long to match the length of a wave in Salmon Run.
