Clownfish Basics

The Clownfish Basics are a pair of shoes in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 1-star item produced by Krak-On and come with the primary ability Special Charge Up. They can be purchased from Shrimp Kicks for  500.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 1-star item produced by Krak-On and come with the primary ability Special Charge Up. They can be purchased from Shella Fresh for  500 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  1,250.

Appearance

The Clownfish Basics are lo-top canvas shoes colored mainly dark orange with white horizontal stripes stretching across, resembling a clownfish's pattern, hence the name, "Clowfish Basics". It has black shoelaces and a white toecap and sole border. The light brown patterned soles feature the Krak-On logo, which is also seen on the tongue of the shoe.

Abilities

The Clownfish Basics come with Special Charge Up as the primary ability. As a 1-star item, the Clownfish Basics come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Krak-On gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Swim Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Defense Up to fill their secondary ability slot.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Clownfish Basics come with Special Charge Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Shoes. As a 1-star item, the Clownfish Basics come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since they are made by the Krak-On gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Swim Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Bomb Defense Up DX to fill their secondary ability slot.
