Use
Introduced in Splatoon 2, the Ink Storm is a Special Weapon, often used supportively, but competitive players may use it offensively.
- Be careful to not activate this special as a panic button, as you will be vulnerable before throwing it.
- The Ink Storm can slowly turf one part of the stage, specifically a zone, while a Skirmisher, such as the Dark Tetra Dualies, distracts the opponents.
- Ink Storm can follow up easily with certain weapons, especially the Splattershot Pro or the Custom Dualie Squelchers with enough Main Power Up to cap the damage so the Ink Storm can finish the opponent off.
- Although some weapons, such as the Bamboozler 14 Mk I and its variants, don't have Ink Storm, throwing an Ink Storm so the opponent is in AoE (Area of Effect) can damage them, resulting in potential one-shot splats with enough Main Power Up.
Synergy
Since the Ink Storm is a supportive special weapon, it can be paired with slayers' special weapons, such as Baller or Splashdown.
- An anchors' special weapon will not always be necessary, depending on the stage.
