Dancing Floors

Dancing Floors is the thirteenth mission of Splatoon 2's single player mode Octo Canyon. This mission is the first to involve Ink Switches.

Octo Canyon

The Kettle for this mission can be found on a platform in the near right corner of Beaker's Lookout. To get to it, find a block with a Propeller. While riding the block, look to the right to look between the purple banners. Between the 2nd and 3rd banners, there is a Grapplink. Use the Grapplink and take a left turn to find the Kettle.

Beginning Area

Break the crates and the two Octopods behind. Get up to the platform ahead and splat the Octotrooper near the Ink Switch. Hit the Ink Switch causes the blocks on the left and the right to extend. Climb up the left one, then climb up the right one before they retract. To the right is a stable platform with a Bumper. Hit the Ink Switch above, climb up the block extending, and splat the Shielded Octotrooper nearby. Take the launchpad to the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint 1

The player lands under cover of a barrier. An Octosniper sits at the other end of the ramp ahead. Take cover behind the bumpers to the side and advance to the Octosniper and defeat it. Continuing to head along the path will cause the next Octosniper to spawn. Hit the Ink Switch above, with bombs if the range of the weapon is insufficient. This causes blocks on the wall to pop out. Climb up one of the blocks, and jump to the platform with the Octosniper without getting hit, then splat it. Above is another Ink Switch. Hit the Ink Switch to power the blocks on the walls to the sides to pop out. The player can make it to the top if they are quick enough, but should they fail to do so, they will fall onto a platform full of Octarian ink below. To the left of the platforms is a raised, non-moving platform that holds the crate with the Sardinium. Once at the top, splat the Octotrooper on the stationary platform ahead and take the launchpad to the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint 2

Ahead is a pool of Octarian ink with three Octotroopers, one Shielded Octotrooper, one Octodiver and two sprinklers in it, with a grating path on top. The player can safely attack them on the grating. Hop off at the end of the path and head up to the platform with a Flooder. Go the the left and use the Grapplink to cross the gap. Then, go on the block behind the vault and jump onto the large platform with pillars patrolled by two Flooders. Grab the key on the other side of the platform, bring it to the vault and use the launchpad to the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint 3

Climb up the block ahead and hit the Ink Switch above, causing the block in front to extend and may push the player off. Climb up it quickly and cross the stationary platform ahead with the Flooder and the Octotrooper on top. Climb up the wall ahead and get to the next checkpoint there.

Checkpoint 4

Climb up the block to the left and hit the Ink Switch above. This causes the block in front to extend, the block on top of it to contract, and the block to the right to extend. Climb up the block in front, and the one on top while it extends back out. Splat the Shielded Octotrooper on the side of the block to the right, hit the Ink Switch again and jump to the block on the right before the one the player is standing on fully retracts. Climb up the wall to the left before the block on the right fully retracts, and the final checkpoint is on top.

Final Checkpoint

In front are two platforms, each with a Flooder. The first one is shaped like an "H" but on it's side, and the second one is simply a long straight platform. Navigate your way to the ramp attached to the right side of the second platform. Climb up the structure and break the crates on top. There the player can get onto the Flooder on the second platform. Use the Gusher on the Flooder to reach the Grapplink to the right, taking the player to a platform high above. There the player can get onto the Flooder of the first platform, use the Gusher on top to reach the Grapplink ahead, which takes the player to the Zapfish.

That's an Ink Switch. Shoot it to activate something nearby.
♪Climbing into the skyyyyyyyy!♪
That's how you do it!
You have a problem...
A vault there should be a key nearby...
Ah, there's the a key in the back.
You remember what to do with that key, right?
Yes!
Watch your step.
Solid.
I see the Zapfish!
Go go!
Uh... Dead end?

OC Icon Sheldon.png Sheldon's Quotes

Requesting the Hero Splatling:
OK, take this with you. It'll help me gather some practical battle data.
This thing can turn you into a one squid army! It's the Hero Splatling!
Hold ZR to charge it up, then release the button to unleash a fat stream of ink!
Charging it up leaves you pretty vulnerable to attack though, so be careful.
During the Level:
I caught a glimpse of the Zapfish up there!
