The Fake Contacts are headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 2-star item produced by Tentatek and come with the primary ability Special Charge Up. They can be purchased from Cooler Heads for Cash 2,000.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 2-star item produced by Tentatek and come with the primary ability Special Charge Up. They can be purchased from Headspace for Cash 2,000 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for Cash 4,000.

Appearance

The Fake Contacts do not change the wearer's appearance in any way, effectively allowing players to not wear headgear while still having abilities in the headgear slot. The icon for the Fake Contacts has a black Tentatek logo on each one, but this does not affect their appearance or lack thereof.

Abilities

The Fake Contacts come with Special Charge Up as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Fake Contacts come with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Tentatek gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill their secondary ability slots.

Trivia

  • Because there is no 3D model, the Fake Contacts are the only gear to use a 2D illustration as their thumbnail.
