The H-3 Nozzlenose is a main weapon in Splatoon and Splatoon 2. It is the heavy version of the L-3 Nozzlenose. Unlike most other shooters, pressing ZR automatically fires three bullets at a time. In comparison to the L-3 Nozzlenose, the bullets have increased attack power, capable of splatting enemies in one burst if all three bullets land on the target. However, it has a lower fire rate than the L-3 Nozzlenose.

Sheldon's Introduction

The H-3 Nozzlenose is a semiautomatic with more firepower than its L-3 twin. The H stands for "heavy"! It can't fire as rapidly, but you can pinpoint foes with the Echolocator to make every shot count! Suction Bombs can also make an effective defense, so this set is a good choice for well-rounded fighters!(NA)[a]

A Nozzlenose that packs even more of a punch. A long interval between shots is made up for by high attack power, which makes splatting your opponent in one go a real possibility.
— In-Game Description(EU/OC)[b]
Listen up squids! This here is the H-3 Nozzlenose. You want a weapon that packs a wallop and also kind of looks like a garden hose rolled up? This here's your pick. A long interval between shots is made up for by high attack power. With the H-3 Nozzlenose, a one-hit kill is a real possibility.

Sheldon's Introduction

The H-3 Nozzlenose here offers a stronger triple-burst shooter experience than the L-3 Nozzlenose. Seek out your opponent's location with the Point Sensor, and unleash a triple blast to splat 'em before they know what hit 'em! You can use the Tenta Missiles to check and mark an opponent's location. I recommend this set for the Inkling who wants to bring out the best in their main weapon.

Trivia

  • The Nozzlenose family of weapons are visually designed after garden hose reels. This is also reflected in their names in some other languages.
  • The H in the name means "Heavy", referring that this weapon is the heavier version of the Nozzlenose weapons.
    • This is supported by the French, Russian, and both Spanish translations of the weapon.
  • The H-3 Nozzlenose and its variants are the only weapons with a unique kill sound effect (which is played after all three shots from a single trigger pull hit an enemy and splat them) that no other weapons have.
  • This weapon is used in the following Octo Expansion level:
  • This weapon is tied with the Neo Sploosh-o-matic and Octobrush Nouveau for the cheapest Tenta Missiles in the game with 170p.
