Appearance
The Hero Headset Replica is a form-fitting headset originally worn as part of the Hero Suit in Octo Valley. It consists of a pair of earpieces with large pointed shapes jutting out to the sides connected by two thin bars that curve around the back of the head. The shapes on the earpieces are flat triangles, despite appearing conical from the front. The headset is mostly black with small sections of lime green on the earpieces, which also have glowing blue lights.
In Splatoon 2, the lights on the Hero Headset Replica change color to match that of the wearer's ink. They now glow more brightly as well, particularly in the dark.

- In Splatoon, despite the Hero Headset Replica not changing color based on the wearer's ink, the near-identical headset worn with the Armor Helmet Replica does.
- In Octo Valley, the Hero Headset is most likely what Cuttlefish and Agents 1 and 2 use to communicate with Agent 3, but the replica is simply headwear.
- Due to it originally being unlocked by other means in Splatoon, the Hero Headset Replica is not made by amiibo, but Cuttlegear, despite being unlocked from the Callie amiibo in Splatoon 2. This is shared with the rest of the gear rewarded with the Squid Sisters amiibo.
