Hotlantis is a general store run by Harmony in Splatoon 3. It is located in Splatsville and can be accessed from Inkopolis Plaza through the arcade machine after downloading the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass.

Description

Hotlantis sells stickers, posters, and other cosmetic items for decorating in the locker room that can be purchased with cash earned from multiplayer matches, Salmon Run shifts, and "simple" Mystery Boxes. The store's in-game catalog features seasonal items that are collected as the player's catalog level goes up. The catalog is also swapped out for a fresh one with new items every three months.

Players can click to show the scale of the selected item compared to their locker, and pressing purchases this item. Pressing allows players to enter Crush Station and pressing similarly allows them to enter Ammo Knights, while pressing takes players back to the square in Splatsville. If the player is in Inkopolis Plaza, pressing takes them to Shrimp Kicks, rather than Crush Station. Pressing takes players back to the plaza.

The manager of Hotlantis is rarely present, so the shop is instead run by Harmony, one of its frequent customers.

While Hotlantis does not exist in Inkopolis Plaza, the arcade machine formerly found there has been converted into a terminal that the player can use to access the store remotely. The player does not appear in the store; instead, Harmony looks down at her Sea-Cucumber Phone, presumably using it to communicate with them, and a few jellyfish customers appear in the background. A new remix of Lookin' Fresh plays when accessing Hotlantis from the terminal.

Quotes

Fortunately, cool stickers and other decorations can be obtained locally at Hotlantis. Nobody knows the store better than Harmony, who has spent so much time shopping there that the owner pretty much leaves her in charge. Check in daily for a rotating selection of goodies!

Oh, you can also get your catalog at Hotlantis! The catalog is filled with seasonal gear and items that you can collect by participating in battles and taking on Salmon Run jobs. There's a new one every three months, so you'll always have a fresh selection to keep you busy.

Trivia

  • The signatures on the exterior of Hotlantis appear to belong to several in-universe musicians from Splatoon and Splatoon 2. Various signatures have text that resembles a combination of English and Japanese writing (such as a signature that resembles "Mやや" likely being Maya from Ink Theory). A handful of signatures additionally feature the physical characteristics of musicians, such as a signature featuring a drawing of Murasaki's face.
    • The front window appears to bear signatures from the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook. Callie and Marie's signatures from Splatoon 2 can be seen on the central panel, and on the left is a large "ひめ" signature and a smaller "eだ" above and to its left, likely Pearl and Marina respectively.
  • Some of the items shown inside the shop resemble real-life merchandise, such as squid and octopus plush keychains from the CROSSING SPLATOON collection.
  • In the Splatoon 3 announcement trailer, Hotlantis was seen to be closed and non-existent at the time.
  • When entering the shop, Harmony will be using a Ultra Hand, a toy manufactured by Nintendo in the 1960s.
  • Hotlantis is the only store that is seen with customers other than the player.

Etymology

The name of Hotlantis could possibly be a play on the fabled sunken city of Atlantis combined with "Hotlanta", a nickname for the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Alternatively, the "hot" in the name may be in reference to the American retail chain Hot Topic.
