Ink Piston

Ink Piston is a mechanic found in Octo Canyon. It shoots a ray of ink into the direction it's facing, and can instantly break Agent 4's suit and is an instant splat once touched again without the suit.

A version of this obstacle called Ink Sticks, which is always extended, appears in Octo Expansion.

Description

Ink Pistons are small Octarian machines found in Octo Canyon. Their faces are made up of three bolts: two making the eyes, and a bigger one making the mouth. They can be seen bolted to any wall or in their own floating tank. Although Ink Pistons behave similarly to a Geyser, the piston activates itself and shoots out the ray of ink. Pistons are placed horizontally and vertically. On the first Octo Canyon mission they appear on, Sunset Octocopter, Marie tells Agent 4 that they shouldn't touch them.
