Inkipedia is a professional encyclopedia.

Given Inkipedia's factual nature, the wiki may feature content that some readers may find offensive or adult in nature.

Content deemed inappropriate that does not further Inkipedia's factual information sharing will be subject to removal.

Under valid circumstances, we encourage editors to use the {{SafeContent|<unsafe>|<safe>}} template. Documentation for this template can be found on its page. By default, visitors will not see content that is in the unsafe section.

If you see inappropriate content, please decide:

Is the content relevant to the wiki?
Yes or maybe: Consider starting a discussion about it on the relevant talkpage or Discord to protect readers with the template.
No: Consider removing the content altogether and notifying an administrator, who will follow-up with the author.
No, and I can't remove it: Please notify an administrator immediately.

Note that the talkpage discussions are also subject to this policy. If a section requires the same content to be written, it should also be inside the {{SafeContent|<unsafe>}} template.

If in doubt, ask!

Toggling between safe and unsafe

You may change your default view in your user preferences appearance tab.

As this changes the rendering for you, there may be a short period of time where Inkipedia will continue to serve content that is against your preference (Inkipedia is currently showing you safe content).

You may request an immediate fix for a page by using the purge functionality (append &action=purge to any article address, e.g. for this page), or by appending &shownsfw=0, where 0 is for safe or 1 for unsafe, e.g. for this page.

The editing tab also includes a feature for adding a button to the editor to change the preview between safe and unsafe mode. Note that this is incompatible with the "Show previews without reloading the page" feature.

Examples of inappropriate content

  • Offensive language (if you have to question if a word is a swear word, please use alternative phrasing)
  • Linking to inappropriate pages
  • Nudity
  • Sex, drugs, alcohol
  • Gore, gratuitous violence
  • Other content that the community finds harmful to the wiki and its readers per consensus

Examples of content which may be allowed in a factual manner

  • Actual content from the Splatoon universe (for example: documentation of lore, usage of alcohol, body models)
  • Content about the Splatoon community that we document (for example: offensive player and team names)
  • A good-faith translation of content from or about Splatoon (for example: symbols that translate to swear words)
  • Quotes from a professional source that contain swearing (for example: interviews, SRL quotes)
  • Other content that the community finds beneficial to the wiki and its readers per consensus

Consequences of posting inappropriate content
