3D Model Project

So this project has been sitting there for a while, with no progress, possibly because the task is too enormous. Looking at the Team Fortress wiki example provided, this isn't actually a 3D model being rendered, but rather captures of a 3D model at 24 angles. See: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/File:Spy_RED_3D.jpg. The process of creating these images is documented at the TF2 wiki here: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Team_Fortress_Wiki:3D_Models. Looks kinda difficult.

Also, something like these templates would need to be implemented: Template:3D Viewer, Template:3D Team Viewer. Can someone who actually knows how wikis work look into that?

I downloaded Splatoon's models and textures from steam workshop and uploaded them here for anyone interested in this project: https://mega.nz/#!lphDiYTB!l3aIsAdPnpS6xCCYN1RNSmVrVv1KW3JQCkFGkSeVmRc

See, here's what's had me (and I assume anyone else who would've been doing this) at a wall: I can't figure out how to view the models in the way they look in-game. They're all available and people do a great job making them work with SFM and GMod, but unfortunately they look pretty different in Source. Splatoon's engine is just so particular, I guess. The models are weird in anything else - the lighting and textures are, like, just off enough to look awkward. And I mean... I guess we could use HLMV if there's no alternative, but they'd still look gross and not accurate to the game. Hhhh 😞 --Bzeep! talk 01:57, 27 May 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There are decompilers for .mdl files (Source Models). Perhaps if someone had some sort of experience with a 3D tool such as Blender, then maybe they could decompile the models and alter them to fit the style of Splatoon. I fancy having a have a crack at that, but I can't really guarantee anything. Erratic-Fanatic (talk) 13:31, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New project proposal

So I just welcomed somebody to Inkipedia (Apollo) and I thought it would be a great idea to make this a project. Just welcoming the new users to Inkipedia and making sure they get a warm welcome from a human. Go to a new user's talk page, hand-type a welcome, maybe showing them a few templates as well as some other stuff and this project would be set! (Check exaple on Apollo's talk page). What do you guys think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlazingInferno (talkcontribs)

We use {{welcome}} to welcome users who have made at least one edit. Luke (talk) 14:08, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Namespaces and Search Results

If a competitive namespace was created, visitors would not be able to use Inkipedia's search bar to find competitive articles, without first typing "competitive:" in the search bar. Many would not even know they need to type it, and they would assume that Inkipedia simply does not have an article on their favorite team or whatever they're looking for. I vote against this project, unless competitive articles are somehow included in search results without typing "competitive:". Heddy (talk) 01:51, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There's extensions to solve that. MixedNamespaceSearchSuggestions is one that I like. Luke (talk) 14:22, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

new new project proposal

I've seen a lot of pages (mostly template) and they don't explain what they are used for. We need to do something about this. Inkling project paintball font eleven23.png Inkling project paintball font eleven23 talk.png Eleven23 splatoon font 3.png 05:44, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

And while we're at it, we could possibly change all text to 'sample text' or whatever it's corresponding to (a title would have 'title text' and vice versa for body text). Are we done?

...with appearance sections? I know all of the normal main, sub, and special weapons have them, but for the hero weapons and stuff like Flooders and Gushers their appearance is listed under 'Description'. soooo... is this project finished? Is there something more we need to do that I missed? Should we change 'Description' to 'Appearance' just for consistency? Avery_TSP (conversing) 23:41, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Those articles have facts listed in that section that are not appearance-related, so they shouldn't have their section headers changed from "Description" to "Appearance" without re-organizing the information first. Heddy (talk) 01:05, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
ok! I'm on it! Avery_TSP (conversing) 17:08, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey,can i help with the translating? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Megarxr (talkcontribs) 20:12, 1 May 2022‎ (UTC)Reply[reply]

You can always translate as long as it’s not google translate and you understand the language you are trying to translate from. SplatonGamer (talk) 22:22, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, make sure to put your signature with 4 tildes. SplatonGamer (talk) 22:24, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Finish the Splatoon 3 Article

I think we should add including all the additions from the Nintendo Direct as a project. OctoAmbush (talk) 16:25, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
