Question about prefrences

S3 gear navbox

Now that we've identified some returning gear in s3, is it okay if I make a navbox for it? I mean, we have one for weapons, so why not gear as well? In my opinion, we should wait until splatoon 3 comes out. For the time being put the Gear as a section under the Splatoon 3 navbox. However, like most things, I can't really talk about this because I am not an admin soooo. User:Yaxops/sig

Sorry, I should've been more specific on how im organizing it. Im organizing it into 3 categories; clothing, headgear, and shoes. I couldn't really organize them by rarity since we dunno if any rarities have changed, and making individual navboxes for said categories would be too small, at least in my opinion. E3 Soon! Splatoon 3 news?

So I recently found out that E3 2021 will be happening soon (apparently in the form of a livestream, so watch out for that) (click here for more info), and I just wanted to talk about the possibility for more news on S3. I think that we'll probably get another trailer as well as a window for a release date if we get any info at all, but that's just speculation. What do you think they'll show for s3? Minigames?

So I'm new to inkipedia (so you probably dont know me) and I'd like to propose we do minigames. I actually have some ideas like Roller Reem, where you are only allowed to use rollers and brushes; Hide and seek, hiders are alpha team and they use chargers and the seekers are the bravo team who use any kind of blaster (clash blaster, luna blaster, etc). New community page idea

As many of you know, the Splatoon series contains a BEAKFUL of lore (pun intended), and with the recent reveal of Splatoon 3, speculation and theories are all up for debate. Because of this, I wanted to make a page dedicated to all of these theories that people have come up with. I imagine it to be like ink pump, but for discussing theories and lore instead of how the wiki should function and who's hosting what. I imagine that it would be called something along the lines of "Ink theories and specs-ulation". Please, tell me what you all think! WoomyMcBoomy 16:10, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

I like it! I watch a lot of Splatoon theories (Mainly the Game Theory one and Lockstin & Gnoggin), but there are still a lot of other ones out there. Making a "Lore" category would be honestly really good to cover since we really only have lore bits in Trivia sections. However, making and discussing Theories should be in the Discord since the Wiki has one. Making a page seems kinda unnecessary. Actually, mentioning trivia, we could also add some bits of trivia that could count as theories from other pages (Ex. Mr. Grizz being Tartar and the whole "Save Our Salmons" thing) and could possibly add that to the lore page. Dynamo 17:23, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

@Timewip2020 The whole lore section thing you mentioned is actually a pretty good idea! You should work on that! But for the theory page, I kinda also wanted to make it for people who dont have discord or anything like that. Plus, it could also prevent false information from finding its way on to other pages. @Timewip2020 So I talked to Shahar about it, and they said that it's probably not the best idea, since it might draw away work from the wiki, as well as spread false rumors. My page is a bust. Well, the lore is already confirmed in the sunken scrolls, and other areas as well, as mentioned (Again) in several bits of trivia. I think that the lore page would still be a good idea, even though it's not exactly my place to give the go-ahead. Dynamo 10:31, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

@Timewip2020 I get what you're saying, but wouldn't it be more convenient if it were all in one page? And about the sunken scrolls, the page for them doesn't really discuss the lore of the game. It just kind of states that they exist, and give some description and role. It doesn't discuss the lore whatsoever. But back to my original point, I think it'd be more convenient if it were all apart of one page. I'm not trying to diss you or sound disrespectful or anything of the sort, that's just my opinion. Wikicode for demo games and special event games

So yknow how we have abbreviated wiki code for splatoon and splatoon 2, so we don't have to type the whole name out? and all we have to do is just put S? I think that we should have that kinda stuff for demo games and special events, like SGT for Splatoon Global Testfire. Makes sense to me, at least. Please, tell me what you think about this idea. Those templates were created as a shorthand for commonly used links. Splatoon has more than 1500 pages linking to it, whereas Splatoon Global Testfire has less than 50 pages linking to it, so Splatoon Global Testfire is just not a common link.

Seems like a cool idea, but has the same problem that the theory page idea does; it draws away work from the actual wiki. And as Dynamo said, there are other sites that people can make avatars on. So there is a OCTOD2 and a OCTOd2, both with the exact same switch username, level, coins, super sea snails, octo canyon stats, octo expansion stats, and rank. I don't know if I'm the only person who hasn't had this on Splatoon 2 yet, but I opened up the game and there's a bunch of inklings with the haircut hairstyle with blue eyes, white ink and the basic gear. Who, or what, is manmenmi? When I looked it up, all it said was that is was japanese for booyah. somebody, please help. Dynamo

Need help with translations...

New page idea

So... I´m not sure if this subject merits a new page but here's a suggestion for a new page: You know those boxies that appear sometimes when you follow a link from a news page, or download Octo Expansion? The ones that appear in Inkopolis? The ones Bridgett loves? I looked and I couldn't find any reference to them on the Inkipedia. Do you think we need anything on this? I´m honestly not sure.

Expandible Table

This page isn't working for me

So I was combing over pages, and I found a few things that I thought were off with the hare vs tortoise page (such as the trivia section being right in the middle of the page). When I tried to edit it, though, the editing page was unresponsive. I continued to wait and try again for about an hour or so (believe it or not), but no dice. First of all, the trivia section is in the correct space, between the Top 100 and the Quotes. Seconds of all, it's being unresponsive for me, too. Salmon Run for Strategy?

I feel like we should put a Salmon Run section between Countermeasures and Gear Abilities into Strategy pages because there is no information about Salmon Run on any Strategy page. Since Salmon Run has a variety of weapons, sometimes consisting of very advanced weapons, I want newcomers to have some advice in case this happens. "Edit Source" is basically the same thing as "Edit" before the update, while "Edit" is, well, it's hard to explain but it's like a newer style of editing if you prefer it. dedf1sh07[talk] 16:42, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

If you don't like the new way of editing, you can always click on edit source. It allows you to edit the old fashioned way :) ChessMaster [TALK] 16:49, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

In short, "edit source" is the same thing as it always was, as I'm sure you've noticed, while the new standard "edit", the visual editor, allows you to edit a page while immediately being able to see what it would look like on the page without wikicode. Oh yeah! You should scroll up. At the top of the page (any page) you'll see an area of the left side of your screen. Scroll down just a little to see the whole thing. Once you see the [tool] bar look at the section in it. Its the third one from the top! In case you can't find it here is a link. Upload. Make sure you have the image as a file! If you didn't or you don't know how just go to the mebuika and right-click the image. (or use two fingers and hold if your on a mobile device) Once you do that you will see a bar that says save to device. Go ahead and head to the upload page and do choose file! New Page Idea

So I was thinking and I thought of a new page idea. A page about the Ink Refill Items in Octo Expansion. It could be like the other Mechanics pages but about the Ink Refill. Does it have an official name (whatever in-game characters call it, if they ever talk about it)? The ink tank refills are specific to Octo Expansion, so I suggest adding it to the Octo Expansion article. Use the format of the Equipment section of the Octo Canyon article. If you believe you can write enough to create an article dedicated to the ink refill item, then go ahead, but I recommend adding to the Octo Expansion article first. We have clear instructions on how to use templates in their respective places, and if new editors have trouble using them they can ask their questions here in the Ink Pump. I do think that this may be an okay idea, but we have other sources to use for help. Dynamo 20:25, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
