Disambiguation Pages

I've seen several disambiguation pages listed in the "How can I help?" pages, specifically "Oldest pages" list. I feel they should be removed from those lists, as many of them do not need further improvements as their placement in the pages would suggest. 5p1k3 (talk) 15:20, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Weapons' Quotes Pages

In all honesty, I think these aren't necessary for each and every weapon. I can see why they might be nice to have in places such as the Fire Emblem Wiki for such dialogue-heavy games as those, but the quotes pages are pretty stubby. Would it be a good idea to merge those into their respective weapon pages? 5p1k3 (talk) 23:08, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

I completely agree. The weapon quote pages, although linked on their respective weapon page, are extremely small and disappointing. Having the quotes on the pages make so much more sense. Splattersky (talk) 00:05, 7 November 2018 (UTC)

Uploading Captured Images From Nintendo Switch

Is it a good idea? I can definitely do it once I get a microSD and an adapter. However, I'm worried about the quality. I'm sure many images here are taken from Capture, but just wanted to put it out there in case I'm having a very bad idea. 5p1k3 (talk) 15:28, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

While using a capture card certainly is better, having an image is better than having no image. The Switch capture quality is more than usable so feel free if you're adding something new. 16:16, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

You can also upload the image to Facebook or Twitter so that you can save it to your computer or mobile device. Warriorking98 (talk) 22:41, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

From Twitter, if you "View Image", and add ":orig" after the extension of the file name, you get the full quality image as uploaded.  :) -DJParticle (talk) 08:08, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Just know that if you are planning to upload videos the max file size for Inkipedia is 2 megabytes so you might need to make them small and low quality

Should Inkling and Octoling be capitalized?

S'pose the title says it all. I'm pretty sure I've seen both in-game and on murchandise (geddit?) but I've always written capital I and O on here. So which is it? Splattersky (talk) 05:07, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Idols' Ages And Lore

The Squid vs. Octopus Splatfest banter from Off The Hook established that one year had passed since the game premiered. Wouldn't that make Pearl 22, Marina 19, and the Squid Sisters 20 these days? -DJParticle (talk) 09:26, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

I guess so. I mean Pearl says "SO... Y'all ready to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our show?!” in the English announcement dialogue for Squid vs. Octopus. Warriorking98 (talk) 22:51, 19 November 2018.

I would say so, except there's the fact that we don't know how the Inklings and Octolings measure time. It could be like dogs or cats, where 1 year = 7 years, and so on and so forth. When we say Marina is "18" could actually be 28 years in squid/octo time measures, so we don't know if they count a full year as a year for age. Splattersky (talk) 23:09, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Poll Suggestions

I have been suggesting polls for a while now and noticed that, when going to the list of previous polls, almost all of them have been suggested by the same person. I feel like this means that other people are not getting the chance to show their ideas for polls. Is there anything we can do about this?--Splatana (talk) 08:38, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Maybe there could be a page that replaces the poll voting page every time the polls are going to change and people could vote on which poll that will appear on the main page next?--Splatana (talk) 08:33, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

I’m taking the suggestions of the polls into consideration but some are not universal, were already or too minor. We could make a poll suggestion page but making a poll for which poll to use is kinda redundant. Talking about which one through the wiki’s discord sounds appropriate. I would really like someone to help me with the polls and put them more frequently in the wiki. Type in the name of the page you want to create in the search bar,then click on the bold text saying "Create the page(page name)on this wiki!" Hope this helps.--Splatana (talk) 11:23, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Deleting and moving contents from unnecessary pages?

The page Location only list and talks about the places the player can travel to via the map on the Wii U Gamepad, which could fit better in the Map article. The name is also misleading, since people searching on the wiki would probably be looking for locations in general, as a broader term, which is covered well in the Inkopolis article.

Other articles, such as Inkopolis Café and Camp Jellyfish, are names based on conjecture and are describing inaccessable places seen from accessable areas. Are these articles really necessary, as there are many other inaccessible areas that are visible from an accessible area, such as subways, train stations, streets and etc. Should these places just be covered in the main articles for the accessable areas or could make a general article that compiles all the inaccessible areas, or just deleted?--Hinamin (talk) 11:30, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

Splatfest Image issues - Embedding

Recently, I've had issues embedding two particular Splatfest images into my Musing pages: Trick v Treat and Salsa v Guac. With the former, changing the pixel size from x200 to x201 worked, but the latter won't embed no matter what pixel size I give it. Fandom Splatoon wiki

When searching for Inkpedia on the web, I came across this wiki, http://splatoon.wikia.com/wiki/Splatoon_Wiki:Home It seems to be pretty small. Do you think we could merge it with Inkpedia? --Splatana (talk) 11:20, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

That's the original Splatoon Wiki, the old version of this one we're on. The wiki was however soon approached to join NIWA, the network of Nintendo Wikis, where the Wiki would be transferred from the free Wikia service to the independently hosted servers of Mediawiki, (I could mope all day on how much I hate wikia, but anyways). Part of the move included the name change from Splatoon Wiki to Inkipedia. The thing is, Wikia doesn't allow Wikis to be deleted or archived, so the original just sits there, with just a few editors for whatever reason decide to contribute to that ghost town instead of this one. You can see this with a ton of other Wikis that decide to break the shackles of Wikia, but because Wikia tends to get better Search engine results, people contribute to the old wiki instead of the new one, causing 2 competing wikis. Very annoying, but a few Wikis do manage to regain their popularity over search engines, and luckily, Inkipedia is one of them. Further info KingAwesome467 (talk) 17:09, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

I actually have been using the wikis on Fandom (not the splatoon one tho) for quite a while now. It is pretty small/missing a lot of info, like you said, so maybe we could ask them what they think? --SundaeSquidTalk 21:34, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Well, about what and why? They probably (hopefully) know that we exist and they can't delete their site. We could always go over and advertise our wiki but that's frowned upon by the Wikia staff and is something they have banned people for in the past. --Raltseye prata med mej 01:04, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
