The Inkopolis News Studio is a building in Inkopolis where Inkopolis News is filmed. The Inkopolis Plaza location is situated next to the Battle Dojo (in Splatoon) or The Shoal (in Splatoon 3) and on top of Inkopolis Café; in Inkopolis Square, it is located at ground level, also next to the Shoal. The Squid Sisters (in Inkopolis Plaza) or Off the Hook (in Inkopolis Square) can be seen sitting at a table in the studio and conversing with each other. It has no visible door and cannot be entered by the player, but it has a large window through which its interior can be seen.

Easter egg

The studio is home to an Easter egg in all three games: if the player looks through the studio's big glass window by zooming in with ZR, the Squid Sisters or Off the Hook eventually acknowledge the player. In Splatoon, Callie and Marie both smile and wave. In Splatoon 2, Off the Hook's reaction differs depending on the player's species: if they are an Inkling, Pearl looks annoyed for having her conversation disturbed, laughs to herself, and poses while Marina bashfully smiles and waves, whereas if the player is an Octoling, Off the Hook will strike more joyful poses and laugh, recognizing the player as Agent 8 from the Octo Expansion. In Splatoon 3, Callie and Marie's reaction to the player depends on whether or not they have completed Return of the Mammalians; if they have not, the Squid Sisters will merely wave, while if they have they will perform their "stay fresh" gesture. Off the Hook's player greeting in Splatoon 3 is normally identical to their greeting for Inklings in Splatoon 2; they instead perform their Octoling greeting for the player after completing the Spire of Order with Eight's Palette.

Appearance

Splatoon

The Squid Sisters waving at the player.

In Splatoon, the Squid Sisters sit on chairs. The colors of the chairs match the ink colors of the player's latest match (or the current Splatfest); the main color is the opponents' color, with arrows in the player's team color. The table in front of them has two lollipops on it, inside a container.

Splatoon 2

Off the Hook waving at the player when they are an Inkling.

In Splatoon 2, Off the Hook also sit on chairs (Pearl's is yellow and Marina's is black) and on the table there is what appears to be a bag of chips and two drinks.

Splatoon 3

Both the Squid Sisters' and Off the Hook's news studios reappear in Splatoon 3. They remain largely unchanged from their original appearances aside from graphical updates, though posters of the Wave Goodbye album art and promotional art for Damp Socks feat. Off the Hook have been added to the walls. The bag of chips in the Inkopolis Square studio has been replaced with a fast food meal consisting of a wrapped hamburger and a bag of French fries.

Usage

Here, Inkopolis News is filmed. In the Inkopolis Plaza studio, people also order food and drinks, as there is a café beneath it. In the Inkopolis Square studio, there is a second floor that appears to serve as an art gallery of some kind.
