This group of squid punks is the Squid Squad. They're one of Inkopolis's hottest acts, and their tracks can be heard as background music during many of the InklingTurf Wars. Sadly, their shows sell out instantly and they're always being mobbed by fans, so they don't make public appearances very often.
The Squid Squad's music combines a mixture of rock, punk rock, synthesizers and heavy metal. It is possibly Splatoon's most recognizable band, as the song Splattack! could be seen as the series' main theme.
These guys are the Chirpy Chips. With their sea anemone lead singer and a sparkling electronic sound, this unique four-piece has been setting the Inkopolis Top 40 on fire! Take a listen to their latest single, Shellfie, which is also the background music you'll be hearing during battles now!
The band name Hightide Era refers to both the full and brimming nature of the group's sound and also the ecological realities of the world they live in. Let's not worry too much about whether Inklings actually understand English or not, 'kay? Kay.
Bob Dub's only song, Dubble Bath, a song used in the loading screen in multiplayer, consists of a slow reggae-type beat, consisting of various bubble effects.
DJ Lee Fish's only song is Lookin' Fresh, consisting of four variants used as the shop theme. The song consists of an almost rap-like vocalist with various filters put over depending on the shop it is heard in.
Turquoise October's music is heard in the single-player campaign Octo Valley. Their music features a heavy emphasis on synthesizers and sound effects. The genre is hard to define, as it uses a very unusual mixture of instruments and sound effects with unorthodox production, although chiptune can be a common theme. Genres involved include chiptune, industrial, electronic and orchestra.
DJ Octavio's music is heard in the final boss battles of Octo Valley. It largely takes inspiration from Electronic Dance Music, with some light rap elements.

The Squid Sisters' music is electronic pop music, with some similarities to J-Pop. Callie provides slightly higher-pitched and more energetic vocals while Marie provides slightly lower-pitched and more husky vocals.

The rock band Wet Floor are the latest sensation in the Inkling world. Their songs are an enticing blend of different genres, and they're especially popular with the kids right now.
A new band called the Bottom Feeders has been tearing up the Inkopolis charts lately. The band is fronted by a tropical-betta-fish violinist, features vocals by a dude made of seaweed, and also includes a shark, a scallop, and a globefish. Their unforgiving yet catchy music style is the product of fusing ancient Celtic sea shanties with punk rock.
This classically trained, all-female 6-piece band creates jazz and samba-inspired battle music. They owe their unique sound to a blend of academic music theory and modern sensibilities. Ink Theory's eclectic approach makes them quite popular with young Inklings and middle-aged Inklings alike.
ω-3 play a combination of cello, timpani, synthesizer, and percussion used by the DJ. They rarely use common time (4/4), and odd sound effects are thrown into some pieces, creating a feeling of confusion and disorientation.

Similarly to their music in Splatoon, their music focuses heavily on sampling and pitch-shifting of sound effects, possibly Octarian. However, in Splatoon 2, they incorporate guitar sections much more frequently and drop the frequent references to chiptune in their music. Certain sound effects from the first game, such as the burping sound effect from Cephaloparade, return. Genres include electronic, dance and breakcore.

Off the Hook largely play pop music, with electronic influences from Marina and rap influences from Pearl. In contrast to the Squid Sisters, who often shared vocals and harmonised, Off the Hook often have very different vocals from each other.
Everyone, meet Dedf1sh. Previously a promising, up and coming DJ, her pursuit of breakbeat perfection eventually led her to a subterranean test facility, where she was "sanitized." Though little of her former self remains, she continues crafting DJ delicacies, and the halls of the test facility echo with her bumping tracks to this very day.
Dedf1sh focuses heavily on the vaporwave and lo-fi genre as well as incorporating elements of rock, EDM, funk, rap, ska and dance. Elements of breakcore can be heard in Splattack! (Octo). Her music is heard throughout the Octo Expansion.

Meet Diss-Pair, the odd-couple duo delivering discordant ditties that have turned the music scene upside down. The group is made up of Ikkan, former bassist of the world-renowned Squid Squad, and Warabi, the up-and-coming prodigy beatsmith. These two are a mismatch made in heaven. When crafting new songs in the studio, they avoid each other at all costs to ensure each track maintains its one-of-a-kind edge and tantalizing tension.
Diss-Pair's music is a mix between heavy metal and EDM. Their music is therefore a fusion of heavy metal riffs backed by deep, husky vocals and electric, funky synthesiser beats, often alternating back and forth between the two genres.

SashiMori are part of the rising tide of new bands emerging in this post Inklings vs. Octolings world we find ourselves in. They were originally a wall-of-sound style hard rock band, but decided to ditch their domineering singer. Now, the remaining three members—a carp, a cutlassfish, and a scaly-foot—have recruited a 10 year old Octoling DJ (a true genius on the wheels of steel), to form a new band with a new sound, for a new generation.
SashiMori play hard rock with elements from hip-hop, featuring record-scratching, electronic elements and vocals sampled from ancient records, implied to be human records.

A duo comprised of two female cuttlefish that were previously big with teenagers, who still compose music for the industry in the present day. One of them sang loudly while the other had a soft, whispering voice[10] Their music artwork can be found floating in the background. J05C14Stick 'n' Move Station with the artists removed, although one of their forearms remains.[Citation needed] When translated, the text on the top-right corner reads" COIKARS" in Halfmoon script, which may have been the name of the duo. This is a play on コウイカ kouika, "golden cuttlefish". The text in the bottom-right corner, when translated from one of the Inkling alphabets, reads "pop pop pop", "hakkisyon!", and "Bye bye".

In the 90s, an album by an unnamed folk rock band gained enormous popularity after one of its songs was featured as the theme song of a famous drama, to the point it stayed on the charts for two years even after the end of the drama. The band broke up at some point despite the good reception, but the members are still musically active.[11]
C-Side is a grungy, rebellious trio that reps hard for the Splatlands. Growing up without formal musical training hasn't caused them to miss a beat, and they've risen to the surface on their ambition and attitude alone.
