The Octoleet Goggles, known in Splatoon as the Octoling Goggles(NA)[a] or Octoling Scope(EU/OC)[b], are headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 2-star item produced by Cuttlegear and come with the primary ability Bomb Range Up. They are obtained after completing Octo Valley. They cannot be ordered from another player.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 3-star item produced by Grizzco and come with a random primary ability generated when they are received. They are only available as a reward from Salmon Run as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. They cannot be ordered from another player.

Appearance

The Octoleet Goggles are a pair of large metal goggles modeled after those of Octolings. Covering both of the wearer's eyes is a darker circle of metal with a tiny purple hole in the center, presumably to look out of. There are also four studs on the goggles, two below each eye.

Abilities

The Octoleet Goggles come with Bomb Range Up as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Octoleet Goggles come with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Cuttlegear gear brand, they have equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Abilities

The Octoleet Goggles come with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Comeback, Last-Ditch Effort, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity as they are exclusive to Headgear and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. As a 3-star item, the Octoleet Goggles come with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since they are made by the Grizzco gear brand, they have equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Trivia

  • The Elite Octolings' version of the Octoling Goggles exists unused in Splatoon's files.
  • Unlike some other gear earned in single player, the Octoling Goggles are not called "replicas". This is shared with the other Octoling clothing. This could possibly mean that it is not a replica, but genuine clothing from the Octolings.
    • The name change from Octoling Goggles in the first game to Octoleet Goggles in the second is likely due to them being considered unauthorized forgeries as opposed to replicas. This is further evidenced by the change in brand from Cuttlegear to Grizzco. This is similar to how the Legendary Cap obtained from Salmon Run's rewards is referred to as the Cap of Legend, a trait shared across all languages.
  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a wig that Mii Fighters can wear based on the hair of an enemy Octoling and featuring a pair of Octoleet Goggles appears as paid DLC.
