The Octoleet Armor(NA)[a] or Octoling Armour(EU/OC)[b], is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

It is a 2-star item produced by Cuttlegear and comes with the primary ability Ink Saver (Sub). It is obtained after completing Octo Valley. It cannot be ordered from another player.

Appearance

The Octoling Armor is a metal, crop top-like garment modeled after those of Octolings. It is held up by two brown shoulder straps and has a sleeveless black shirt underneath with a thin stripe down each side that changes color to match that of the wearer's ink. This shirt is not specifically included with the Octoling Armor; it is part of an Inkling's model and this is simply the only clothing that shows it. The Armor is accompanied by a thick brown belt worn loosely around the waist.

Splatoon

Abilities

The Octoleet Armor comes with Ink Saver (Sub) as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Octoleet Armor comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Cuttlegear gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Trivia

  • Unlike some other gear earned in single-player, the Octoling Armor is not called a "replica". This is shared with the other Octoling clothing. This could possibly mean that it is not a replica, but genuine clothing from the Octolings.
  • The Octoling Armor and the Anchor Life Vest are the only pieces of clothing that show the tank top that Inklings wear under clothes.
  • The Octoling Armor, Octoling Boots and the Tentacles Helmet are the only pieces of gear from Splatoon to not return in Splatoon 2, excluding special promotion related gear, such as the SQUID GIRL Gear, the Traditional Gear and the CoroCoro Gear.
    • The Octoling Armor and Octoling Boots can be found in the files of Splatoon 2, presumably as a planned Salmon Run gear reward like the Octoleet Goggles, but was never released.
