Octopods at Rest Tend To FLIP OUT is the 7th level in Splatoon 3's story mode, Return of the Mammalians.

Description

This level contains many Octopods which the player must fight to find their way to the goal.

Access

The level is just a short walk away from the previous level. But before the player can walk there, he or she needs to clear the path of Fuzzy Ooze with Smallfry.

Walkthrough

Note: Due to the level having no fee, you may retry from checkpoints as many times as you want, even if you lose all your lives.

Checkpoint 1

The level begins with 3 walls and a view platform. When going into the view platform, the player can see many Octopods from there. When the player decides to continue, they encounter an Octopod and some crates. The player afterwards will go past the area and see more Octopods and a few other crates. To proceed, the player will have to defeat all the Octopods there successfully. After that, the player goes to the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint 2

After the checkpoint, the player will find a vault and a few boxes on the left side. The player can't climb up, so they take the right route. They find more Octopods in this area and goes around, enountering an Oversized Octopod. Once they defeat this big enemy, the player can bust the crates and find a key that they can use to unlock the vault and proceed.

Checkpoint 3

The player will find some climbable walls and encounter a few more Octopods. The same is true for the second wall, but they will find some armor to collect and defeat more Octopods. The player next has to splat a Splat-Switch and find another Oversized Octopod, guarded by some crates. The player finally gets to the goal and proceeds out of the level.

Careful! They'll charge if you get too close.
Watch out! An Oversized Octopod is headed straight for you!
Whew! Wasn't expecting that...
A Power Egg pack in a place like this? You're pretty sharp, Agent 3!
Alllmost there...but what's lurking in that room?
Nice work, Agent 3! Splat the goal and let's go.

Look! There's an Octopod way over there.
Woah! There's a ton of them.
Hey, it's a key! But how can we get up there?
If it were me out there, I'd tilt to peek around the corner so I don't get ambushed.
There you go. Now it's just a quick hop down, and you can go unlock that vault.
There's a Power Egg pack here too? Wow. You have a good sense of smell, Agent 3...
Careful! If I know anything about being an agent, it's that an open space like that is BOUND to be trouble...

Etymology

The level's title is a reference to Newton's First Law of Motion, "objects at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion."
