Orb

Orbs are objects in the Octo Expansion. They are spheres on a pole, covered in Agent 8's ink with a metal band across its equator.

Gameplay

A life bar will appear on the top of the screen indicating the orb's current health. When enemies attack the orb, its health decreases. It gradually becomes covered in their ink color and it starts to spark. When hit, it makes a noise that sounds somewhat like mechanical whining. When fired at by the player, the orb will regain some health depending on the power of the weapon used. Orb missions require Agent 8 to defend the orb from enemy attacks for a set amount of time, and the mission is failed if either Agent 8 or the orb run out of health. When the orb runs out of health, it explodes.

• J03D08 Girl Power Station
• Escape 06 Peristalsis Phase
  • The orb in the Peristalsis phase isn't addressed as one, but it functions almost exactly like an orb.
