The Red Hi-Horses are a pair of shoes in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 1-star item produced by Zink and come with the primary ability Ink Saver (Main). They can be purchased from Shrimp Kicks for Cash 800.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 1-star item produced by Zink and come with the primary ability Ink Saver (Main). They can be purchased from Shella Fresh for Cash 800 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for Cash 2,000.

Appearance

The Red Hi-Horses appear to be mainly red hi-top basketball shoes with white laces. On the sides of the shoes, the white arrow from Zink's logo can be seen, with the logo itself being seen on the top black tongue of the shoe. The soles are white, and feature an arrow pattern. The shoe also features six small holes near the toecap.

Abilities

The Red Hi-Horses come with Ink Saver (Main) as the primary ability. As a 1-star item, the Red Hi-Horses come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Zink gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill their secondary ability slot.

Trivia

  • Players of the Global Testfire who pre-ordered Splatoon were temporarily given the Red Hi-Horses as part of a then-exclusive set of gear. It did not carry over into the full game, however, since the Testfire did not create save files.
