In Splatoon, it is a 3-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Defense Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for  9,000.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Bomb Defense Up DX. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for  9,000 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  13,500.

Appearance

The Retro Sweat is a dull pink pullover sweatshirt. On the front is a simple black line drawing of Judd, with the Inkling text from the SquidForce below it, also black.

When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

• The Retro Sweat is the most expensive piece of gear with Defense Up in Splatoon and most expensive SquidForce gear.
• The Retro Sweat exists in real life, sold by KOG.
• The design of Judd featured on the front was depicted in the manga section of the Splatoon Ikasu Artbook, where when humanity was still dominant, Judd's owner was making a deal with somebody involved in a war.
