Reason: Add table with checkpoints, enemies, other information.

Overview

The player must ride on the top of car platforms, while being shot at by Sanitized Octarians, in order to reach the goal. First the player starts on a platform and has to jump on the cars to get to the other platform. There they have to ride the ride rail and hit the Ink Switch to move the Ink Piston up and avoid getting hit by them.

Next the player has to get on the car and get to the launchpad in the middle by jumping on to other cars. Sanitized Octotroopers, Sanitized Twintacle Octotroopers, Sanitized Octosnipers, and Sanitized Octocommanders can be found on the cars.

The final checkpoints makes the player get on a car and avoid ink pistons. The player can hit the propeller to move the car up and hit the ink switches to move the ink pistons down. Sanitized Octocopters spawn on the final row of ink pistons. Once the player is through, they can get to the goal.

Quotes

C.Q. Cumber's Quotes

What you'll find here is, in essence, a drive-through car wash.
Please take care not to wind up inside the car wash itself.
Although, to be honest, I suppose it's more of a car...slosh.

Cap'n Cuttlefish's Quotes

Make your way through when the ink sticks are raised up!
Launchpad ahoy! Watch out for enemies!
Fly, Agent 8! You've got to make it over the car wash!
Follow the glowing path!
— When the player attempts the section past the final checkpoint again after getting splatted.

Marina's Quotes

Look right, then left...then right again.
Watch how the cars move, and then jump across!
— When the player attempts the section past the first checkpoint again after getting splatted.
Try staying submerged in the ink on the car while you make your way to the center!
This ride is headed to the car wash!
It's open up above! Raise the car up there!
Careful not to use too much ink!
— When the player attempts the section past final checkpoint again after getting splatted.

Pearl's Quotes

The next car just shows up if you stand around and watch.
Yes! Keep going!
Huh—is this a dead end or something?
OPEN SAYS ME!
Move on quickly, Eight!
And...JUMP!
Hold on... This car's got a propeller?
What the heck?! Do something!
You made it!

Trivia

  • This station has Slime floating in the background. This is a toy made by Mattel and sold in plastic trash cans. It was introduced in February 1976.
  • Ride with Me Station is the only station in the Octo Expansion to use the N-ZAP '85.
  • Pearl's dialogue "OPEN SAYS ME!" could be a possible attempt at saying the phrase "open sesame".

Etymology

"Ride with Me" is a reference to the 2001 song Ride wit Me by Nelly.

The subtitle, "Shotgun!", is a reference to the game "Shotgun", used to determine who rides in the front passenger seat in cars, fitting because the mission focuses on riding floating cars.
