Sesame Salt 270s

The Sesame Salt 270s are a pair of shoes in the Splatoon series.

They are a 2-star item produced by Tentatek and come with the primary ability Quick Super Jump. They can be purchased from Shella Fresh for  3,260 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  6,520.

Appearance

The Sesame Salt 270s are tall, white, laceless mesh sneakers. The top has a horizontal strap with teal Inkling text on the end. A small, teal Tentatek logo can be seen on the sides of the shoe, between the strap and the ankles, as well as on the outside of the toes. The heels and toes are black. The soles are white along the sides, and teal at the bottom.

This item, along with Sea Slug Volt 95s, were added to Splatoon 2 on 16 March 2018 at 02:00 UTC as part of Newest vs. Most Popular, a Nike-themed promotional Splatfest in Japan. As part of the promotion, Slug Volt 95s and Sesame Salt 270s appeared on SplatNet 2 throughout the week, and at times were listed at their regular price with their regular abilities.

Abilities

The Sesame Salt 270s come with Quick Super Jump as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Shoes. As a 2-star item, the Sesame Salt 270s come with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since they are made by the Tentatek gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Ink Recovery Up and a lower chance of rolling Quick Super Jump to fill their secondary ability slots.

Trivia

• Sesame Salt 270s are designed and named to resemble Nike Air Max 270 shoes, which are the emblem of team Newest from the Newest vs. Most Popular.
• Sea Slug Volt 95s and Sesame Salt 270s are the only gear items to ever have their default versions available on SplatNet 2.
• In art for the Hero vs. Villain Splatfest, Marina wears a pair of Tentatek shoes unavailable to players. They are similar to Sesame Salt 270s, but are mainly dark gray with white and teal accents.
