The Sorella Brella is a main weapon in Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3. It is a Sorella-branded version of the Splat Brella and comes with a different sub weapon and special weapon.

Appearance

The Sorella Brella is similar in appearance to the Splat Brella. However, the Sorella Brella has white highlights on the handle, and most of the canopy changes color to match the user's ink, but in differing shades. The canopy itself has polka dots and fish designs on it instead of the Splat Brella's checkers and seahorse designs.

In Splatoon 3, the canopy received an updated design featuring a large black graphic in the middle of it, with borders in the same color as the user's ink. The fish on each side have been replaced with stylized designs of a pufferfish seen from the front, and the top and bottom of the canopy use Sorella branding. The muzzle, some parts of the handle and the tips of the canopy are also bright yellow.

Data

  • The Sorella Brella is a middleweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 125. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • The Sorella Brella's canopy has 500 HP.
  • The canopy takes 0.2 seconds to open.
  • The canopy does 30 damage to opponents on contact.
  • The canopy takes 2.03 seconds to be launched, and 6.5 seconds to return.
    • The launched canopy initially travels at a speed of 1.32 units per frame. It remains on the stage for 5 seconds.
    • After being launched, incoming damage to the canopy is multiplied by 0.5.
  • Each shot consumes 6.325% of the ink tank's capacity, allowing the player to fire 15 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
    • Holding long enough after firing to release the canopy uses 30% of the ink tank.
    • So, 36.325% of the ink tank is used in total to release the canopy.
  • After firing, there is a 1 second cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
    • The cooldown after holding open but not releasing the canopy is 0.33 seconds.
    • The cooldown after releasing the canopy is 2 seconds.
  • When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the shot takes 8 frames to come out.
    • When firing from swim form, the shot takes 15 frames to come out.
  • When firing continuously, it fires a round of pellets every 30 frames.
  • The interval between firing and when the player is able to enter swim form or use a sub weapon is 20 frames.
  • When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.65 units per frame. While holding the brella open, the player's movement speed is set to 0.55 units per frame.
  • The Sorella Brella fires 11 projectiles per shot. Each projectile can do between 10.8 and 16.2 damage. A maximum of 5 projectiles per shot will damage the opponent, so the maximum possible damage per shot is 81.
  • If a projectile is in the air for more than 8 frames after being fired, it loses 0.3375 damage per frame until it reaches 10.8 damage at frame 24.
  • Shots can deviate 6 degrees horizontally and 4 degrees vertically.
  • Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 26 units per frame for 3 frames. Shots travel straight for 78 distance units.
    • After that, the projectile's velocity is set to 16.52 units if the projectile's velocity is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it falls to the ground.

The Sorella Brella returns in Splatoon 3 as part of the Drizzle Season 2023, with an updated design. Its kit consists of Autobomb and Inkjet.

Data

  • The Sorella Brella is a middleweight weapon.
  • The matchmaking range is 12.5. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
  • The Sorella Brella has a canopy with 500 HP, and regenerates 2.5 HP per frame (150 HP per second) when the canopy is not active and not destroyed.
  • The canopy takes 12 frames to open (0.2 seconds).
  • The canopy does 30 damage on contact with a cooldown of 30 frames.
  • The canopy takes 122 frames to launch (2.03 seconds) and 5.5 seconds to regenerate.
    • The canopy initially travels at a speed of about 0.132 units per frame, and remains onstage for 5 seconds. During this time, all damage to the shield is multiplied by 0.5.
  • Ink consumption is 5.5% per shot, allowing the user to fire 18 times with a full ink tank.
  • Once the canopy is fully open, it consumes 20% of the ink tank per second, requiring 30% of the tank to release.
  • After firing, there is a 60 frame (1 second) cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
    • After holding but not releasing the canopy, there is a 20 frame (0.33 second) cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
    • After releasing the canopy, there is a 120 frame (2 second) cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.

  • The time between consecutive shots is 30 frames.
  • The time between firing the weapon and being able to use a sub or enter swim form is 20 frames.
  • The movement speed while firing is 0.065 units per frame.
  • The movement speed while shielding is 0.055 units per frame.
  • The Sorella Brella fires 11 pellets per shot.
  • Pellets fly straight at 2.6 units per frame for 3 frames, covering a distance of 7.8 units.
    • After that, the speed of the pellets is set to 1.652 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and they lose 36% of their speed every frame (including the first frame after they stop traveling straight). Once the velocity decreases below a certain threshold, they will begin to be slowed less and fall faster.
  • Each pellet has a base damage of 16.2. After the pellet has been in the air for 8 frames, it begins to lose damage every frame until it reaches 10.8 damage at frame 24. The maximum damage that can be dealt to a single target per shot is 81.
    • The effective range is about 10.42 units.
      • This number may vary at different firing angles.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Sorella Brella is the fraternal twin of the Splat Brella—that is, same stats, same basic DNA, but different design and brella composition. And the loadout's different too! Now you can fend off foes with the Autobomb sub before pushing forward with the brella. Here's a pro move: deploy the brella shield, and then fire up your Inkjet special to rain down ink to support your allies making a forward push behind it. This set is carefully crafted for players who have the skill and experience to use each component in a coordinated attack. I hope you'll give it a try!

SRL Ballistics here with a barrage of weapon updates! First, the Sorella Brella. It's a fraternal twin to the Splat Brella - similar DNA, different look. Paired with Autobombs and the Inkjet, this brella supports a strategy of controlling enemy movements to maximize Inkjet impact!
