Usage of English in Japanese media, or rather, media in countries where English isn't an official language, isn't uncommon in the slightest. Splatoon's name in Japan is also Splatoon. Miss Delibirda (talk) 10:09, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Wait, you linked the Japanese version of the site. Miss Delibirda (talk) 10:12, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you look in the link, it says en meaning it's in English despite being on the Japanese website File:S3 Icon Frye.pngSquidcat (talk) 11:16, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't think Splatoon Base is a reliable source of localised names as the translation is a bit faulty and it even says that its intended for the Japanese market. Live from Squid Research Lab which is intended for an English-speaking audience says that they're called Warubi and Ikkan so I think we should stick to that. i can't find this mentioned anywhere in the source. i think we should revert the wiki stuff back to their japanese names until a more reliable source comes out. Aeonium (talk) 05:40, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The translation for the Deep Cut interview originated on the Japanese site, and it was recently published with no changes by NoA and NoE. Miss Delibirda (talk) 10:11, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
