New song version?

I was just watching this promotion of the upcoming World Championships and heard a new version of the song with a definitive ending. Is this a new ending to the song, or has it been heard before? I can't personally remember hearing this in the past! GloverMist (talk) 17:01, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's the Splatune 2 version.  KA467 🗩 🖿  22:18, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Inkoming! English Lyrics

I used to think all Splatoon songs were in the nonsensical Inkling language, but I was listening to Inkoming! and I clearly heard the words “ink or sink”. Now it seems likely that Splatoon songs (with the exception of Squid Sisters and Off the Hook songs and possibly Now or Never!) are in distorted English. Through close listening and a YouTube video by Caitlin Koi, I have partially deciphered Inkoming! Here are my lyrics:

Synth vocals:

Join my team, join my team, it’s coming, it’s / Coming up, coming up

Like a squid, like a squid, don’t look at me / Ink their turf, don’t ease up

Male singer:

Laugh, dance, run before you go / Ink or sink, driving home / Wake up, pick up, take it over the boat / Inkoming, inkoming

Female singer:

Ink me, it’s low tonight / Fly high, past the town at night

Male: Right here!

Female: Right now!

Male: Make it…

Female: Dancing now…

Male and female: All inkoming for the SPLATOON!

[distorted vocals]

Multiple singers:

Gonna kick it back / Gonna run away now / Gonna kick it back / Go attack the party now

Synth vocals:

Join my team, join my team, don’t look at me / Join my team, join my team, don’t look at me / Join my team, join my team, it’s coming, it’s / Inkoming, inkoming

(These lyrics are still a work in progress. If you have any more interpretations of the words, feel free to share them.)
