Suggestion for the weapon classes
It is suggested to split Blasters and Brushes from Shooters and Rollers and make them as separate weapon classes, since the sub-classes are unofficial, and they are different hero weapons in Splatoon 2 as well.

What is the best shooter for turf war? (Splatoon 3)
I've been using different shooters in turf war (I know everybody has weapons they are better at then others) My friend strongly agrees that its The Aerospray MG, While I Personally think it could lean towards some of the Dualies, like the Dark Tetra Dualies as they are able to connect with my skill set well. I haven't been using dualies as much anymore to use other shooter weapons. (To avoid confusion for this I am counting dualies as a shooter to give it a wider range of discussion Satori (talk) 20:50, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
S3 Alternate kits
So alternate kits aren't in S3 despite being launch content for S1 and S2, and afaik there's no mention that they'll be in updates… I'm getting the feeling that S3 might rework loadouts so players can choose between a small selection of subs and specials (e.g. for Splattershot, you could choose between Burst Bomb and Splat Bomb, and then between Trizooka and Inkjet, for a total of 4 potential loadouts).
That would also explain why subs and specials are listed on the minimap, since they wouldn't always be the same with this system.
As for the main weapon branding/retextures, I could see those as weapon skins, perhaps unlockable in future catalogs or the shell-out machine.
