Trevally Derby Rollers
The Trevally Derby Rollers are a pair of shoes in Splatoon 3.
In Splatoon 3, they are a 0-, 1-, or 2-star item produced by Grizzco and come with a random primary ability generated when they are received. They are only available as a reward from Salmon Run Next Wave, first as the monthly gear for February 2024, and later in a Pink Capsule. They cannot be ordered through Murch.
Appearance
The Trevally Derby Rollers are a pair of chrome roller skates reminiscent of the kind used in roller derbies. They have decorations running down each side and four relatively large wheels which all change to match the user's ink color, and ski-like attachments on the soles to enable normal walking.

Abilities
The Trevally Derby Rollers come with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Drop Roller, Object Shredder, or Stealth Jump as they are exclusive to Shoes and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. The Trevally Derby Rollers may appear as a 0-star item with one additional slot for secondary abilities, a 1-star item with two additional slots for secondary abilities, or a 2-star item with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since they are made by the Grizzco gear brand, they have equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Trivia
- The Trevally Derby Rollers bear a resemblance to the roller skates used in the 1975 science fiction film Rollerball.
- They might also be inspired by outfits from the band Hikaru Genji, a Japanese pop music idol group known for their flamboyant outfits and their onstage roller skating stunts[1].
- This might link the Trevally Derby Rollers with the SplatJack 5000.
Etymology
