The Triple-Deck Specs are headgear in Splatoon 3.

They are a 2-star item produced by Enperry and come with the primary ability Sub Power Up. They must first be unlocked through leveling up the Drizzle Season 2022 Catalog to level 100, then they can be purchased from Naut Couture for Cash 11,300 from SplatNet 3 Shop for Cash 16,950. They can only be ordered from another player after being unlocked.

Appearance

The Triple-Deck Specs consist of three separate pairs of glasses of different styles: the uppermost pair has square lenses, has a leopard-style pattern and is larger than the rest, the middle pair is rounded and has a single lens that stretches across both sides, is pink and is wider at the center, and the bottom pair is similar to the middle pair, except the frame is thicker, it's teal and the lens narrows at the center. The bottom pair is the pair the goes over the wearers eyes, the other two simply rest on the players forehead.

Abilities

The Triple-Deck Specs comes with Sub Power Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 2-star item, the Triple-Deck Specs comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Enperry gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Sub Power Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

  • The Triple-Deck Specs's primary Ability (Sub Power Up) matches the favored Ability of its brand (Enperry). This is likely a developer oversight; the series as a rule avoids these combinations to make achieving maximum AP more difficult.
    • The only other gear to have this distinction are the Retro BluFocals from Splatoon 3, as well as six items unintentionally sold on SplatNet 2 with matching Abilities; see that page for more details.

Translation notes

  1. "San" here is both a transliteration of the word "sun" and the Japanese word for "three".
  2. The Russian letter "З" "Z" used in the word "защита" "zashchita" ("protection") looks nearly identical to the digit "3".
