The Urchins Cap is headgear in Splatoon. It is a 1-star item produced by the Skalop brand and comes with the main ability Bomb Range Up.

It can be purchased from Cooler Heads for 600 Cash.

Appearance

The Urchins Cap is a black cap with a flat brim and a white Inkling symbol on the front. On top of the brim is a shiny, black and gold sticker with the Skalop logo, and on the back of the cap is a rectangular patch with a squid-like emblem in white, black, and red. Both the brim and the border around the Inkling symbol change to match the color of the wearer's Ink. The hat is worn at a slight angle.

Abilities

The Urchins Cap comes with Bomb Range Up as a main ability. As a 1-star item, it also has one slot for a secondary ability. Since it is made by the Skalop brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Respawn and a lower chance of rolling Special Saver.

Trivia

• The symbol on the cap resembles the Japanese character う (as in うに, or "sea urchin") written backwards.
• The default color scheme of the Urchins Cap (shown in the equipment icon) is similar to an alternate cap worn by the Seattle Mariners, a baseball team owned by Nintendo of America. Their name also connects to the aquatic themes of Splatoon.
• The Urchins Cap was originally called "Baseball Cap", was primarily navy blue instead of black, and had Damage Up as its main ability.
