• 1 main of Swim Speed Up
• 1 main of Run Speed Up
• 1 main and 3 subs of MPU
• 2 subs of Quick Respawn
• 1 sub of Quick Super Jump
• 2 subs of Special Charge Up
• 1 sub of Bomb Defense Up DX

Depending on the splatling, I'll edit some things and change some subs but overall this is what I aim for while choosing gear.

Kensa Splattershot

• 2 mains of Run Speed Up
• 1 main and 1 sub of Quick Respawn
• 2 subs of Sub Power Up
• 1 sub of Bomb Defense Up DX
• 1 sub of Special Power Up

Sorella Brella

• 1 main and 1 sub of Special Charge Up
• 1 main and 3 subs of Ink Saver (Main)
• 1 sub of Run Speed Up
• 1 main of Bomb Defense Up DX

Modifications I'd make for S3

• Skip button for news (Double press A?)
• We can see deaths (Splats?) on the end of match results. Much like S1

Gamemodes!

Splatfest gamemode

Basically, there is a gamemode that lets us play a shifty station +two maps. We can vote to see whether or not it's night or day. The gamemode rotates every 3 hours (an hour more than most modes).
