Maybe spammer

People may have gone over this before, but i think AlexD830 may be a spammer. he reacently put totaly false info on the private battle page, P.J. GT helped fix that, and he has done that before.Squid400 (talk) 17:26, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Spammers are usually robots that insert unsolicited advertisements into pages. Someone who is always adding on-topic information could not possibly be a spammer. If you believe the information they added is false, you should discuss this with them to resolve the misunderstanding. I reverted that edit because I misunderstood the "Players don't gain points from Private Battles" sentence. I thought that it mentioned both Level-Up XP and a Weapon's lifetime ink coverage don't increase when played in said mode. Sorry If I'm not what you expected but try adding things that are good to the Bloblobber Deco under a Use section (such as it has good range) but expand on it. Also add things that are bad about it under a countermeasures and expand on it (Such as it has low run speed). Then add abilities that are useful to it(Such as Ink saver (Main)) under a Recommended Ability section and a reason (such as it's good because it can provide more sloshes)ChessMaster [TALK] 03:44, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

I'm not Heddy but just chiming in that that page doesn't serve much purpose since we already have the navbox and Category:Weapon strategy. I can see the merit of it as a checklist page for the people creating the articles but don't think it does much in the mainspace that isn't already done. Luke26 (talk) 17:53, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

@Squid400 A page creation status checklist is only useful to editors. To create a better replacement for Category:Weapon strategy, think about what a reader would like to see. I have suggestions: it could have a summary of key info from each weapon article (such as role or strengths/weaknesses), and the icon for each weapon. @Squid400 You could look at the shooter table as an example, or you could do any format you think of. I recommend deciding on a format to use before thinking of making a template. Patrollers patrol other users edits to check for spam and inaccurate info. Trusted editors who make large amounts of edits are often Autopatrolled to reduce the amount of unpatrolled edits. Hope it helps! User:Eminence/Sig4 21:07, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

About being off

I had small inconsistent edits for a few days, and was off for about three. I have a valid reason. Me and my friend were hanging about near our local corner shop when this cyclist crashed into him, there was a lot of blood and pain, and I couldn't bring myself to do anything. I think the best patrollers are people with good judgement and a friendly attitude, and plenty of wiki experience. Demotion?

Hi Heddy, I just wanted to bring it to your attention that WayslideCool has not patrolled a single edit since July 21, 2020. During this time period they have also only made seven edits. I don't have anything against WayslideCool I just wanted to bring this to an admins attention.

Also, the status bar on the RightsList is based on edits, but perhaps the bar should be based on how much the user uses the tools. Because a user shouldn't be a patroller or admin if they don't use the tools these roles provide them. Just wondering, User:Eminence/Sig3 17:15, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

According to the demotion policy, not using rights is a valid reason for demotion. That is a long period of time to go without patrolling, so I decided to change them to autopatrolled. @Carrie That's a wonderful dream! I also want this wiki to be the 'wikipedia of inkopolis'. But are you sure you need to be admin? Admin tools are just for deleting and protecting pages and blocking users. It is possible to improve the wiki without being an admin. In fact, the users who have contributed the most are not admins.

Usually no one goes straight to admin, they get plenty of experience in multiple areas of the wiki, then become patroller, then become admin. If you want to request rights, you can do so at Requests for Rights, where everyone would vote and provide feedback. Heddy (talk) 23:34, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Marking image uploads as patrolled

To mark an image as patrolled, go to the image page. Underneath the summary, on the right side of the page, there is a link that says "mark image as patrolled." Click on that to mark the image as patrolled. Hope it helps! User:Eminence/Sig3 15:52, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Sloppy Competitive article creator.

The user; User:Pokidude342 is making competitive space articles that are poorly written and based on their opinions. He should be notified that those articles are for elite, high-skill tournament play info and NOT someone's random personal opinions. Can you tell them, please? Thanks. P.J. @P.J. GT Think of the collaborative spirit of Inkipedia and wikis in general - the best way to handle this is to edit the articles to improve them. If something sounds wrong and is not supported by citation to a tournament winning player or top 500 player, I would just remove what they added. It doesn't matter if the first edit seems like a random opinion, because over time it will be replaced by opinions of experienced players. All opinions are allowed as Inkipedia is a wiki that anyone can edit, though they should brace for the possibility than their opinions may be removed!

Perhaps Pokidude342's contributions will kick-start improvements to those articles. Nothing gets people more motivated than seeing some "wrong" opinions on the Internet!

As for poor writing, it would be good to give them specific tips about writing. I may do so, and I encourage everyone to help other editors with writing. Heddy (talk) 03:54, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Question about the Wall of Fame

There is no restriction, so yes they can be a staff member. However, when Bzeep was asked about staff rights on Discord, they were not interested. Former staff members can have their rights back without a formal request just by asking. Heddy (talk) 21:09, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

Uppercase or lowercase?

Hey, so I noticed you lowercased "version" on the Main Page, and I was wondering since it was a common noun, then shouldn't all "version"s be lowercase, too? For example, I'm pretty sure a lot of pages have "Version" preceding whatever version they're talking about. hi i’m new!! i mean i just made an account but i have been on the wiki for a bit! i saw this thing called a sandbox and i edited mine just saying i might put info about my splatoon oc there (if that’s aloud i would like to know about that :-D) but when i clicked save edit it won’t let me edit it again!!
