Zink Layered LS

The Zink Layered LS is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, it is a 1-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Damage Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for  600.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 1-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Respawn Punisher. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for  600 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  1,500.

In Splatoon 3, it is a 0-star item produced by Zink and comes with the primary ability Respawn Punisher. It can be obtained through leveling up the Drizzle Season 2022 Catalog to level 30, or it can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for  600 from SplatNet 3 Shop for  1,500.

Appearance

The Zink Layered LS consists of a long-sleeved dark gray shirt and the short-sleeved white shirt worn over it. The white shirt has a large Zink logo on the front in black, white, and magenta, and a tiny, olive green tag at the bottom. A small version of the logo is printed on the shirt's back. Also at the bottom, the end of the dark gray shirt can be seen poking out.

Abilities

The Zink Layered LS comes with Damage Up as the primary ability. As a 1-star item, the Zink Layered LS comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slot.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Zink Layered LS comes with Respawn Punisher as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Ninja Squid, or Thermal Ink. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 1-star item, the Zink Layered LS comes with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slot.

Splatoon 3

Abilities

The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level to 1 or 2 stars will add a secondary ability slot per level, up to a maximum of three slots. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Zink gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Quick Super Jump and a lower chance of rolling Quick Respawn to fill its secondary ability slots.

Trivia

Unique clothing that resembles the Zink Layered LS from Splatoon Global Testfire.

• The Zink Layered LS is the cheapest purchasable gear with Damage Up (in Splatoon) and Respawn Punisher (in Splatoon 2).
• Players of the Splatoon Global Testfire who pre-ordered Splatoon were temporarily given a clothing similar to the Zink Layered LS and the White Tee with a large ink-colored squid sticker on the front as part of a then-exclusive set of gear. Since the Global Testfire did not create save files, it did not carry over into the full game.
  • Unlike the Studio Headphones and Red Hi-Horses, however, it did not become obtainable in the full game proper.
• Inkling Boy's default variant wears the Zink Layered LS in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
• The Zink Layered LS exists in real life, sold by KOG.
