Alterna Citizen Program M-01: Basic Course (Morning Fog) is a song in Splatoon 3.

Description

Alterna Citizen Program M-01: Basic Course (Morning Fog) is a relaxing, ambient track that consists of bird chirps, cricket chirps, a piano, and possibly the sound of a flowing river. These elements combine to create a soothing track that reminds one of the outside world. It plays in the clean rooms in missions with gold kettles in Alterna. This track helps present Alterna as a paradise, as it is the first track Agent 3 hears when they enter a kettle in Alterna, since the first Alternan kettle they enter is most likely 0101 Get to Know Alterna, Your Only Choice, which uses this song in its clear room.

Like the other songs that play in the clean rooms, this song loops unusually compared to most other in-game music due to its audio file containing two loops of the song that fade out completely before repeating. The music can thus be heard in-game fading out and restarting if the player waits in the clean room for about one minute and forty-eight seconds.

In Splatoon 3, the song has a filter applied that makes it sound as if it is being played from within the clean room through a low-quality speaker. In Splatune 3, as well as in the Nintendo Music app, the song is present without any such filter.
