Anarchy Poisons is a song performed by Deep Cut. It is made from three different versions: Bird Mix, Snake Mix, and Boar Mix, which are performed by Shiver, Frye, and Big Man respectively.

Description

Anarchy Poisons is performed during the first half of Splatfests in Splatoon 3. The members of Deep Cut perform their own versions of the song on separate Splatfest Floats, which move in a loop around Splatsville. The different versions are based on different aspects of Anarchy Rainbow. The different versions are synchronised, which can be noticed when the player moves between the floats. Up to two versions can be heard at once. In the second half of a Splatfest, their three floats combine to form one stage, where they perform Anarchy Rainbow.

Bird Mix

Shiver performs Anarchy Poisons (Bird Mix), which is laid-back. Her use of the shima-uta singing style, as well as several instruments and synths, together resemble traditional Japanese folk music, notably ondo music. It uses Shiver's verse from Anarchy Rainbow with a unique second verse afterwards. An instrumental part fills space where the chorus would be.

Snake Mix

Frye performs Anarchy Poisons (Snake Mix), which is cheerful and upbeat. Her singing style, as well as several instruments and synths, resemble traditional Indian styles of music. It uses Frye's verse from Anarchy Rainbow after a unique first verse. Similar to Bird Mix, an instrumental part fills space where the chorus would be.

Boar Mix

Big Man performs Anarchy Poisons (Boar Mix), which is an upbeat dance song. Several instruments and synths together resemble Brazilian samba music. It uses the main samba beat of Anarchy Rainbow, as well as the choir singing and trumpet that can be heard in the chorus.

Other versions

Anarchy Poisons (Splatune 3)

The Anarchy Poisions track in Splatune 3 has a 16-bar intro fading in from silence, starting with the base percussions which plays in Splatsville when not close to one of Deep Cut's floats during the first half of a Splatfest. From the 9th bar, the instrumental of Anarchy Poisons (Bird Mix) starts to fade in, meanwhile the base percussions fades out as the former gets progressively louder throughout the remaining 8 bars. After the intro, Anarchy Poisons (Bird Mix), Anarchy Poisons (Snake Mix), and Anarchy Poisons (Boar Mix) are played in sequence, with seamless transitions from one to another. At the end, the opening instrumental section of Anarchy Poisons (Boar Mix) is played again while the song fades out.

Anarchy Poisons (Bird Mix) (Splatoween)

The Splatoween version of Anarchy Poisons (Bird Mix) is nearly identical to the original, with a few changes to the instrumental, most notably the removal of the whistling present during the intro and post-chorus.

Etymology

Anarchy refers to the chaotic nature of Splatsville and Splatoon 3 as a whole, and is derived from Anarchy Rainbow. Poisons and the titles of Bird Mix, Snake Mix, and Boar Mix refer to the three poisons, greed, hatred, and delusion, which are represented in Buddhist religion by a bird, snake, and boar respectively. Statues of a bird, a snake, and a boar are also present in Splatsville. Bird Mix may also refer to the whistling, bird-like sounds heard throughout the instrumentation, and Snake Mix may also refer to Frye's signature animal, eels, which are snake-like in appearance.
