Overview

The player must navigate several platforms with the 8-ball to reach the goal.

Checkpoint 1

When the player begins this stage, they find themselves on a platform looking at the 8-ball on a rail and a platform below. Shooting the 8-ball causes it to roll along the rail and activate an 8-ball Switch. This causes a Splat-Switch to move along the platform below which has to be inked to make the next rail rotate in the right direction. If done in time, the 8-ball rolls through five Squid Rings before landing on a platform below. The player can use a Ride rail to get it, and to the second checkpoint.

Checkpoint 2

The 8-ball has to move onto a rail. After hitting an 8-ball switch, an uninkable wall with a small Splat-Switch raises, which has to be inked quickly. After the 8-ball has been launched on top of another platform, an inkable wall raises which allows the player to get to the same platform. Before reaching it, the player encounters a Sanitized Shielded Octotrooper, which they can splat or ignore, and gets to the third and final checkpoint.

Final Checkpoint

The player has to hit the 8-ball onto a rail and immediately get on a nearby ride rail to ink a Splat-Switch on their way. Many Squid Rings are collected by the 8-ball while Agent 8 jumps on a narrow but long platform with another Shielded Octotrooper blocking a Splat-Switch. Take care of the Octarian and hit the switch before the 8-ball rolls off the rail. If done correctly, both the 8-ball and the player can collect three Squid Rings each before landing on the last platform with the goal. Push the 8-ball onto the goal, and the player clears this station.

C.Q. Cumber's Quotes

Here you must chase after the 8-ball and ink the switches as fast as you can.
If the ball falls off the side, you'll fail.
If the ball stops on a rail, shoot it with your Blaster to get it moving.
Be aware that the cushions will absorb some of the 8-ball's speed.
You let an 8-ball fall—test failed.

Whaaa?! Get after that switch and ink it!
There's a switch—ink it!
Pushing the ball yourself should allow you to move it along more carefully!
OK, Agent 8—that switch is next!

Trivia

  • The title's "bodacious" is a nineties slang term meaning "great" and the subtitle is one of the possible results on a Magic 8-Ball.
  • This station has cassettes, pencils and some sort of electric connectors or switches floating around in the background.
    • A04 Roll Out Station has cassettes and pencils floating around in the background as well.
    • The European Spanish title of this station outright mentions the cassettes.

Translation notes

  1. Comes from "Flitz" (whiz) and "-bühl", a suffix found in certain German city and district names, but it is also a name of a German city on its own.
  2. The word ламповый lampovyy is a Russian slang for "cosy".
