Specs reflects on when he first met the rest of Team Blue. A jellyfish teacher tells Specs's group that they are the Blue Group, and Specs turns his ink blue. Another Inkling, Goggles, ends up with the word 'blah' written all over him. Specs and Goggles become friends, with Specs being as serious as he always is. Goggles makes a pair of goggles, but he forgot to remove the pudding that was in it first. It is cleaned out, and Goggles notices another Inkling in their group looking at his goggles. The Inkling is startled and a bit nervous when Goggles goes over to talk to her, but she tells him that she really wants a pair of headphones and the goggles would work perfectly. Goggles offers them to her, and she introduces herself as Headphones. They see some others building a sandcastle, and they need to put water in it. Somebody pours the water, but destroys the castle and dirties the two Inklings who were making the sandcastle. The two Inklings run off, and Goggles makes a dam out of sand for the Inkling, who introduces herself as Bobbles Hat. A ball gets stuck in a tree, and Team Blue try to help. Specs uses a brush, Headphones uses the hose, Bobble Hat uses a bucket and Goggles uses rubber bands; however they all fail. Then Goggles tells his new friends to launch him. It actually works, and the ball is retrieved.
